I've been to a funeral, and even though I think I could handle it like you did, I'd prolly get creeped out a bit, depending on how close the person was especially.

Yeah I went to my aunt's viewing. Sucked balls. Don't like bodies. Cried a little bit, but not really. Everyone was miserable and it was just a terrible ass event.

I went to my grandmother's when i was in fifth grade. I saw her get buried and everything. I think the closest i went was like 10 feet maybe? cause everyone had to go up to pay their respects, even the little kids.

My first funeral was my mothers sister when I was 18 months old. After that I been to so many i lost count. The worst one was my grandmas in march 2005. She was my role model,insperation and my second mother. I didnt want to go to hers but i would of felt soo guilty if i didnt. I even gave a speech at her's cuz i felt like i needed to get this stuff out. Another hard one was my grandpa's cuz i was close to him(my grandmas husband) but i was younger.
My grandma's wasnt an open casket but they called me,my brothers,mom,dad and 2 aunts in.in and opened it for us. I didnt want to go but everyone told me to come in so i did. that was really hard. but yet i was there for a week while she was dying and there the day she died and i layed with her for over an hour when she died just crying my eyes out. but that was too much detail so i been to too many funerals and dont want to go to anymore.

First one was my best friends mom, i guess i was 14. Didnt look in the casket cause she would look WAY different than she would normally look so I just wanted to keep the good memory. Didnt cry, neither did my best friend, tough ass kid.

Second one was my grandma, didnt cry, did look into the casket and it just looks weird. I was kinda expecting it so it wasnt a big blow, she was finally relieved from her pain. Although I do feel shitty for not visiting her as much when al she lived for was her grandkids. Damnit

Is it just me or do you come in this thread and it seems everyone thats been to a funerals comments make it sound like they expected a good time etc lol. like noone grasped the whole "funeral concept" lol.

I doubt anyone expects a funeral to be "fun", but they're fuckin depressing and just generally are not something i personally would want to go to.

never been to one, but seems to me like it's slowly approaching and eventually i will have to go to one. i don't want to, but there's nothing i can do about it.. the whole 'viewing' of the body.. omg this is so pointless to me. i mean.. i wouldn't like people to look at dead me, i'd like them to have more optimistic memories of me, so i'll either get cremated or iono.. donate my body to the medical university.

the whole concept of funeral.. jeez, it's creepy to me. i've never been to one, like i said, and i really don't want to =(
