Preppy Clothes

Postby Slimm » Apr 20th, '09, 18:14

So a couple years back i believe it was ms.angie, called me preppy. After finding the word today again somewhere on the internet, i decided to do some research.
I ended up seeing threads about clothes (yes i know its not just clothes), but do you guys wear these clothes? Especially with rappers hating tight clothes, i think this topic can get interesting.

I personally wear it, and like it, i wouldnt label myself as a rich 'preppy' kid though. We dont have a Abercrombie and Fitch store around here, but when i get to NY this summer im gonna spend some stacks on them clothes yadigs.

Not to wide and not to tight; the best clothing style there is.

I wear clothes that started out as preppy, but make them my own. Like my jeans aren't ridiculously big like rappers liked to do in the 90's. They fit and have enough room for them to sag comfortably. Shirt-wise I do just about anything. I like Polo shirts, I like button down shirts, and those are both considered to be preppy articles. I prefer a cleaner look to that baggy bull shit anyways. Girls like it more, you get a completely different reaction from people, and I personally just feel better and more put together.

When I was like 13-15 I dressed like I knew the only thing I'd ever do in life was rap lol. I looked ok for what I was wearing, but my clothes were huge and people didn't really take me seriously. I mean not only was I 13-15 years old, but I was dressing like I was in a music video lol. Not a good look. Now I do a nice pair of jeans and a button up and then sneakers (or dress shoes if the occasion calls for it). Then you can do accessories like hats, jackets, jewelry, or whatever else and you can be fly as you wanna be lol.

And man I can't say clothes or shoes are better than the other because without one the other aint shit. Nice outfit in some shitty ass work boats and it's ruined. New $200 shoes and all you're wearing is some dirty jeans and a previously white t-shirt.

I'm preppy all day, every day. My closet is full of Abercrombie, Hollister, Ralph Lauren, and Lacoste. I'm seriously addicted to Birkenstocks and Sperrys, and I only carry coach or dooney bags.

Its just the way things are where I live. Everybody's dad owns a boat. Everybody drives a BMW. Everyone's stuck up around Annapolis.

I wear baggy clothes most of my time. But it's not because I don't think "tight" clothes are fly or anything, but I can't stand wearing them myself. They're so fucking uncomfortable. It feels like I can't move in them.

So I usually wear baggy jeans, hoodie/sweatshirt some sneakers and whatever accessory I want to wear at the time.
I still got clothes in the preppy way, just not too tight, they're just a little baggy. And I have them to wear at job interviews and stuff like that.
People tend to not take you serious when you walk in to a interview in baggy jeans and a Nike hoodie, you know. :8)

Im going more into hip hop style each day....Don't take any offense but I hate tight clothes, Im too into that undergroundish dressing you know? where as big shirts/jeans but NOT too big. I recently bought $150 black rock jeans, shits awesome, looks dope when you bag it down ya feel me. As for t-shirts I've always worn normal ones, never tight ones. Love xxl ones and medium sized ones too. IMO its gay for a guy to wear tight clothes, cause I feel girls needa do that to show there ass/breast, me I got no ass or "breast" so fuck outta here lmao.
