Even if it was things they agreed with. Obamacare was a conservative idea but as soon as Obama got on board they had to be against. And now they're doing everything they can not to implement it so they can say that it doesn't work even though it doesn't work because of them. The republicans are children who care more about winning elections than improving the country. Short of Jon Huntsman right now I would never vote for a Republican but he's way too sane and down the middle to get the nomination.

Good post, not just cosigning but yeah Huntsman is probably the only logical republican, the rest of them are crackpots.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about Obamacare.... and as I said before, Obama has no back bone. He doesn't excercise his presidential powers to fight back against congress. He is as spineless as they come.

I used to think like you not too long ago, but I honestly find myself agreeing much more with Republican libertarians more so than centrist democrats.

It's hard for Obama to exercise his presidential powers when congress isn't passing anything for him to veto…….

I like this thread.

Tomorrow we'll vote for president in Brazil. I'm going for the workers' party again. (WP president candidates have been winning since 2002). The Brazilian Social Democracy Party's candidate was the governor of my state and I like him a lot, but his party has some cringeworthy ideas and connections, so, on a larger scale, I do prefer the Workers' Party.

So Obama is supposed to to veto them only because they were endorsed by Republicans? That's not having a backbone, it's being a stubborn child, which is what the republicans are being. If Obama thinks its a good law then he shouldn't veto it regardless of who proposed. I agree that Obama should have told the Republicans to go fuck themselves but the Republicans were NEVER going to cave, and that was obvious. Obama was in a lose-lose scenario when he got stuck with that congress. So you can't really fault him for that, we need a president who ends the political game, not plays it.

Yeah I agree mostly, especially the bolded part.
