Good question. You should re-work and polish it a little then make a topic out of it.

It depends on the shape of his/her elbows after said transformation. Before I answer this question, I need you to answer a smaller one. How pointy would MC's elbows be, on a scale of 1-10?

Well every girl past five on the elbow scale is below my standards but in this case not way below my standards so it's a difficult question still. I guess not, since a Spartan's affection, more often than not, only comes once in a life time and 6/10's (at best) affections are a dime a dozen like a dollar and twenty cents, so the answer is nah. Interesting question though.

Well it's impossible to say what's best.

As in, what affected my life for the best? Because even then, there are small little details and subtle events that happen to us that go right under our nose and switch the path that we were previously walking on completely. A typical answer that would come from a lot of members from this forum would be "I got into Eminem" or "I got into Hip-Hop", because they would figure they've finally found seclusion in something that they can actually say they're passionate about, and I was thinking of saying this, but it's impossible to know what would have happened in my life had I not.

I was also going to say that a certain someone passing away made me a stronger person that's more eager at attempting to expand my thoughts, but again, I don't know where I would be had that person not passed away. Maybe I would have been a more stable person that was less defensive, maybe I would have prospered more in school.

And then you can define the best thing that's ever happened to you as an event that leads up to your moment of true happiness in life, and I don't think that has truly happened yet. When I was a kid, I would have told you that the happiest moment in life would be when I won a Gameboy out of a Yogurt package, in middle school I would have told you that it was finding what I thought was "love" or something involving sports, 2-3 years ago I would have answered with what I said about Hip-Hop/Eminem, in a certain span of 5 minutes on one specific day I would have said that finding a 50 dollar bill is the greatest thing that ever happened to me because of the circumstances, now..meh.

I haven't found a moment in my life that's so notable that I should type it out and show it to everyone because too many things have happened and none of them leave an everlasting impression that others didn't. We think we know what we want, we think we know what was the happiest moment of our life, but we don't, because other problems arise and salvation for those problems show themselves disguised as "The best thing that's ever happened to us". I'll get back to you when I find that burn that I'm looking for.

Do you think my standards on what makes a good/great member (has to be witty/funny, a good debator, insightful, not be driven by emotions, listens to a wide variety of Hip Hop other than Eminem, etc.) is too high, or are you too friendly amiable with other members, and accept them regardless of their flaws?

i.e. The way we treat certain posters

I accept members regardless of their flaws and "befriend" them because frankly there's no reason to dislike somebody who's not in front of you because they're incapable or to a further degree, an idiot...but I'm not going to pretend that everybody I "befriend" is in my top 10 members or are objectively a great member. I don't think I've ever listed my top posters but I'm fully aware that there's line between somebody I really like, and somebody that is a grade A member. There are people who affect me, and there are people who are actually capable of leaving a mark on the forum. If I call the former out on their obvious flaws, they're going to slave themselves to try to fit some accord and come off as contrived if they weren't capable of figuring this out for themselves in the first place. If I've learned anything from not-so-bright members in forum communities, it's if you see potential, they're going to eventually reach it after gradually progressing and becoming more comfortable with dealing with a forum community. It's a maturing process.

Though, I feel that some people think that embedding themselves further into the community will equate to being a better poster, but it won't. Your standards are fine the way they are because I guess that is a way to look at what makes an objectively decent poster if you want to make a template out of it. I don't see a reason to change it, everybody has their standards and it's not like that bar you're setting is impossible to reach. The only reason to change your standards would be if you're trying hard to find an excuse to put somebody that really isn't that great of a contributor in your top 10 in bias. I just hope that nobody feels the need to try and force themselves to match it since you're a respected member that some people actually look up to for some reason even though you're an orange anime bitch that likes One Piece.

Well let's put it this way. If insults were wordplay, Menzo would be Crooked I, Xray would be Lupe, & Block would be Joe Budden.

As much as I like Menzo and while some of his insults are pretty quotable they aren't nearly as overwhelming as people try to make them out to be. They're nice, but he doesn't say anything that makes me actually lol hard or feel offended if they were ever used against me. I just like...smile, a bit.

Xray's insults are in a class of their own. He continues an insult for over a paragraph, makes it an underlying theme to a long ass post, or just says some random ass shit that somehow still connects back to his opponent, so I'd say his are definitely the most entertaining. His style is more original than the other two and it's impossible to predict what he's going to say. He also tends to get more personal than the others when he gets in an argument so yeah.

And Block has some nice ones but the main entertainment in him isn't in them, hence why he's Joe Budden. He's witty but he uses it in a way that's deeper than just pinning names. I'd say he's on the same level of Menzo when he's really trying to do them but he's better at just "arguing" than the others.

So I'd say Xray.

C.R.E.A.M wrote:You think I gosta treat my anger issues on this forum and stop creating large essays of insults ?

Hmm....well, I think you're ventilating out some kind of suppressed hate, or just straight up exaggerating. It would be able to tell if I knew you personally or heard you up close but on an internet forum it could be either one, but yes, it's not healthy in any form, not for your image and not for your mental. You're just exhausting your fingers when you look angry on the internet.

I'm kind of contradicting what I said earlier by actually offering advice but you kind of asked for it so here's a tip. The most perfect "owns" I've seen on internet forums aren't supposed to look like you do when you get into arguments. Look at Xray, look at Maybe, look at Block, look at EminemFase, look at Amadeo, hell look at that Zephos guy that diction is 6'9ing. They use insults, but they know how to place them, and they do it with taste and nobility. They all have completely destroyed people in contests of who can shit on who, but they have never done it through eruption of agitation and when EmFace actually did do that against Jaz it almost made it look like he lost.

One of the main reasons I think diction holds class in a higher pedestal as a debater is because of how indifferent he is. When you display irritation and your opponent doesn't you're letting them know that they've affected you more than you have affected them. Nogger succeeded in what he was trying to do here and your insults didn't affect him in the slightest bit because 1.) You don't actually know him, so nothing you said actually applied to him and therefore he doesn't feel any "impact" from it, and 2.) He expects you to insult him, the fact that you actually typed out more 5x more than he expected would only make him lol harder.

So yes, you should try to control your anger more on the internet. Anger is a thinner back-up armor for neanderthals to jump into. You look better when you're trying to make your opponent's post look bad, rather than trying to make your insult look good, if you know what I'm saying.

What do you think of me, Satire ? :sweating:

I've already said what I think of you but I'm going to elaborate this time. First off, I like you. You remind me of a more concentrated dosage of Master Chief, as a reference to me saying he's a cross between you, Venom & Miller.

And you're obviously seeking to help the forum so I respect you, and you're a cool person when you're not too busy swinging your dual-action toy lightsaber at obvious trolls but you've had the shakiest evolution as a poster I've ever seen. When you first started posting in the Backstage & Chit-Chat you seemed like you were trying really hard to fit in with the constant picture posting and the involvement in Ponies (which were all used very out of place when you first started using them btw, don't worry you've gotten better).

It's obvious that there used to be (or, still is) some kind of tension you were hiding between us and I didn't know what that was about but I could feel it. When you made that "diss" track with Say What You Say I literally lol'd (which brings me back to my first answer that breathing in > flipping out) and brushed you off because I knew Master Chief would get mad and flip out on you before I would have to. That's why I think you guys share more similarities than you show awareness of. Though, I think he expresses his thoughts more focused.

Like class said, since then, you have gotten better and are a little more animated as a poster (at times, too animated), but you still aren't "there" yet. There are times when I feel you're too much of a "next-door neighbor" character (lol, I'll let you interpret that yourself). You haven't displayed the full personality other than getting mad, so you're one of those people I mentioned to diction that still have time to grow and expand. I hope this helped.

TL;DR: You're cool, I like you, you're trying to add to the community, you need to mellow out like Chief & you're still growing.

What's your favorite Atmosphere album ?

This is fucking hard. They've pushed out too many quality albums of different styles, all of which are lyrically consistent and I like the production on everything past Se7en.

I guess the order of how I rank their albums is God Loves Ugly = Lemons > You Can't Imagine > Lucy Ford > Family Sign > Seven's Travels > Overcast.

Lemons & God Loves Ugly were my first two downloads from Atmosphere (by random choice because of the covers, lol) and I feel like I was destined for Slug's music because I made the right choices. God Loves Ugly had such a great theme/feel to it while Lemons has some of the best story-telling I've ever had as well as classy production. I guess if I had to choose one it'd be GLU.

God Loves Ugly is somewhat like the MMLP of Slug. There's classics all over this album.

"I wear my scars like the rings on a pimp, I live my life like the captain of a sinking ship"

He has this aggressive, arrogant attitude and edgy sound through out the album that just says "You all fucking suck, now let me tell you why". I love it, the dark "atmosphere" (lulz) of the record, the simple at times, sparse at others yet at all times effective production that Ant provides, Slug's youthfully energetic delivery and hunger...I know you'd think who am I to say this after creating that thread, but this is one of those albums that is a hip hop essential.

Lemons was a completely different side of Slug that his old fans either loved or disliked but imo, still amazing all around. It had some of the best story telling I've ever heard, relateable content from so many different perspectives and it's probably in my top 30 in the most well-produced hip hop albums too.
