If you want an easy reason, it's probably because your lazy. If you want some deep reflective reason that makes you contemplate your character, maybe it's because

A.) You are hurting from something. You're wearing your beard (or mustache) like a scar to make a statement that you're not completely happy with life, and you will only shave your facial hair once you feel you have truly fulfilled your goals and reached the "destination" you've wanted to be placed in.

B.) You're trying to build a contrast to society by showing that you don't care about your physical form, but still try to fit in and make something of yourself. You're the odd one out, different, but realistic. You look like a bum but still have a place to go and things to say that should be heard. I always believed this is why Eyedea has his beard and hair fully grown out in the video of his single off of his last album "Smile".

Great reasons. I've probably haven't shaved before due to one of the above reasons, but this time it's different. I was going to retract the question last night, but didn't.
