Halftime. Too bad it's the shortest on the album.

Nope, and honestly I don't think I will either.

I haven't even got the time to listen to those Warren G songs you mentioned. Will do so tomorrow though.

Do you watch anime ? :shifty:

The Truth Is Among Us. It has my favorite Lupe song on it (Failure) and one of my favorites - Twilight Zone. I also love his version of Still DRE i.e. The Run Down.

Food & Liquor. Most of my favorite Lupe songs are on it and it's a more consistent album. Favorite songs are Hurt Me Soul and Kick, Push.

Slug is an excellent lyricist. He excels at storytelling and many of his songs are like thrillers. Favorite song is The Waitress. I only have 2 of their albums though, but I've checked out certain songs on the side as well.

Hip-Hop, NBA and video games.

If DBZ falls under anime than that's the only one.

His albums doesn't really have too much vocals from him, best are Regulate (Debut album) and I Want It All, I'll show you 3 of my favorite songs by him, though :

Suicide feat. RBX : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDkB1_qZ8v0
This Is Dedicated To You (Nate Dogg tribute : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFjXwxV9oNI
Groupie Luv (213) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWUYBtxaflg

What do you think of these songs ?

Suicide is dope. I love the beat, it reminds me of Bad Guys Always Die.

The second one is great as well. The beat is mellow and the chorus is nice.

Like the 3rd song also, and I think I've heard this one. Cool melody.

Recommend me a Big L album.

Do you like Nate Dogg ? What's your favorite hook by him ?

What's your favorite Rap/Sung collaboration ?

Sure, props for the recommendation.

I know he sucks badly so I guess yeah. And I'm still laughing at the awkward position he put Lupe in when he was praising him. Now Lupe can't really bash him because he will turn out as ungrateful, lol.

Well, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous is his only official release done completely by him so go grab that. I'd also suggest you to download The Harlem's Finest freestyle compilation before you get to The Big Picture.

Yes, his hooks were classic. Favorite one is Oh No with Mos and Monch.

I've no idea, but Stan is the first song that comes to mind. Plus I loved Dido's voice even before I heard that song so I'm thankful that such collaboration went down.

He's a very good MC but I don't really like the beats he raps on and the whole vibe of his music. I'm also not that big of a fan of fast rapping unless it's done on short terms (i.e. line or two ala Big L). I haven't heard many of his songs though.

Don't you agree that this beat was made specifically for Big L?

Do you feel Big L possessed Apathy in his verse, especially :58 onwards?

Do you know any Hip Hop songs giving shout outs to Big L? (I know Diabolic has a line in I don't Wanna Rhyme saying that he was possessed by the ghost of Lamont Coleman)

Does it annoy that I haven't answered your questions yet?

Best DITC albums? (solo albums count)

Do any members annoy you in this site?

How do you feel about the success of this thread?

Absolutely, that beat has "Big L" written all over it. It reminds me of All Black slash Street Struck and it's the prime reason why I love Buckwild.

Haha, yeah that speeding up was typical for L. Nicely done.

Nah, but I was wondering where you've been these past few days.

Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, Word... Life, Goodfellas, Return Of The Funky Man, Worldwide. I wouldn't count The Big Picture because most of the songs were blends and I also wanted to keep it 1 album per artist. Big L's choice is obvious, O.C.'s first album was very consistent and tracks like Time's Up and Born To Live are the shit. Its cover is also one of my favorites. Next two choices are the best albums from the respective artists and Worldwide was a decent group record.

Nope. Firstly because I'm not even aware of most of the members and secondly, because the concept of "treat people the way you want to be treated" seems to do wonders for me in internet communities. Which, on that note, is ironical considering it should work much better in real life.

Excellent. I'm glad that I got to know some of you better and therefore enjoy the forum even more. And it's also great to get into all these answers because I really enjoy writing when it's on topics I like.

Thanks for that list. :y:

Would you consider yourself a Hip Hop connoisseur?

Have you ever utterly flamed someone so bad that it shows no remnants of your usual posting style?

Do you have a temper irl?

Album you're anticipating the most atm?

Do you feel that Papoose is a bootleg Big L?

Who would you like to have seen Big L collab with the most if he was still alive?

Thoughts on Camron?

Top five favorite Lupe songs?

Do you think Lupe's next album would be able to match his first two?

Thanks for that list.

You're welcome.

Would you consider yourself a Hip Hop connoisseur?

I definitely would. I know everything I need to know in order to hold my own in a Hip-Hop discussion with anyone. And even though there are many artists that I haven't heard (enough of) yet, I feel that I have excellent understanding of the Hip-Hop culture in general. I'm also very good with trivia regarding my favorite MCs. Another plus is that I've overcome the difference in languages and am able to comprehend Hip-Hop in English without the need to look up lyrics and words in dictionaries (at lest for the most part). I'm also in contact with foreign Hip-Hop heads in their 30s/40s and have learned a lot from them.

Have you ever utterly flamed someone so bad that it shows no remnants of your usual posting style?

Not really.

Do you have a temper irl?

I rarely argue with people but I do get pissed off, of course. Usually it's because of something stupid like video games, or when something that I've been looking forward to gets canceled in the last minute.

Album you're anticipating the most atm?

Hadn't I heard the snippets, I'd have said Hell:The Sequel but as it is - F & L 2.

Do you feel that Papoose is a bootleg Big L?

Haven't heard much of his material but he seems like the generic "technical MC bootleg". Alphabetical Slaughter was dope though, and that cypher with Lupe.

Who would you like to have seen Big L collab with the most if he was still alive?

Big L and Eminem collaboration from 1999 or 2000 would have made the best imaginable duet song for me.

Thoughts on Camron?

I love his verse from 8 Iz Enuff. Other than that, I haven't heard much of him either. I do think that he was better as Killa Cam though.

Top five favorite Lupe songs?

Failure, Hurt Me Soul, Kick Push, The Instrumental, Twilight Zone.

Do you think Lupe's next album would be able to match his first two?

Not really but I hope that his haircut will, lol. I mean, not that it counts for something but he looks retarded.

Edit: Excuse me if I sounded egoistical in my 1st answer.

Who do you think is the most sampled rapper ever between Nas/Prodigy/Rakim/Guru/G rap etc?

Why do you think Prodigy is sampled so much?

Who do you think has the best delivery in Hip Hop?

Your favorite voices in Hip Hop?

Ever give Nujabes a spin?

Samples as hooks or actual choruses?

What attracts you to Hip Hop that other genres don't?

Is there any missing thing in Hip Hop that other genres have that makes Hip Hop feel inadequate? (I mean could you get the same feeling listening to Hip Hop as someone would get from listening to Metal?)

What rappers do you think you're better than? :shifty:

Nas.

Why do you think Prodigy is sampled so much?

I haven't heard many songs that sample him but I guess people like his voice and quotable lines.

Who do you think has the best delivery in Hip Hop?

Prime Em. His flow was very captivating and he wasn't afraid to experiment with his pitch and intonation. I mean, you must change those two in order to have a good flow but only Em and Biggie were extra shifty with it.

Your favorite voices in Hip Hop?

Prime Em, Big L, Method Man, 2Pac and Lord Finesse. Em had (has) a very crisp voice, Big L also but he sounded more raw with it, Meth has a very unique and smooth voice, Pac's was very energetic and Finesse also has a smooth voice but he sounds more calm with it.

Ever give Nujabes a spin?

Nope.

Samples as hooks or actual choruses?

I like scratched hooks just a bit more, especially when done by Premo. And it's great that they put the emphasis on the verses themselves i.e. don't take away the attention from them.

What attracts you to Hip Hop that other genres don't?

Mostly the lyrics because in rap you can say much more with them. I also like flowing a lot more than singing and the instrumentals are more coherent. They make good melodies sound even better when sampled properly. Plus, with rap you have the whole Hip-Hop culture and all the elements are adding to it.

Is there any missing thing in Hip Hop that other genres have that makes Hip Hop feel inadequate? (I mean could you get the same feeling listening to Hip Hop as someone would get from listening to Metal?)

Not something that is of a big importance to me. And only thing that comes to mind is that Rock and Punk have that "coming of age" vibe, and are great genres to get drunk to.

What rappers do you think you're better than? :shifty:

I can't compare myself with those who rap on English but only with those who do it on my own language. So as far as that goes, I think I'm lyrically better than about 90% of the MCs I've heard but I fell short in the flow category so I don't know. I guess I can make it in the top 15-20 in 2 or 3 years.

What's the best "Internet meme" in your opinion, and what do you think of those in general ?

Who's your favorite fresh rapper ? (2009+)

What's your top 5 favorite albums that was released from '85-'96 ?

Big Pun or Tupac ?

Do you like singing/rapping artists that fuses both ? (Ol' Dirty Bastard, Pharoahe Monch, Slug etc)

Your favorite Kanye West beat ?

Your favorite solo Guru album / favorite Gang Starr album ?

Lol. Well other than Big L I'd say 2Pac. He was the most charismatic person out of everyone else and could do so much more with his talent. And I'm referring to his acting skills first and foremost.

I've no idea. Maybe the video of the Australian kid that got bullied. As for internet memes in general, I barely care about them.

I don't have one.

Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous and Illmatic are the only definite choices. Other than that, it's Word... Life/Ready To Die/Hard To Earn/Enta Da Stage/Bizzare Ride To The Pharcyde etc.

Tupac. More charisma and more unique. Pun was way better technically though.

Sure. Pharaohe Monch is one of my favorite MCs.

Takeover is the first that comes to mind.

Hard To Earn followed by Daily Operation. The former one represents that classic Boom Bap sound and the production is just banging. Favorite songs are Comin' For Datazz, Code Of The Streets, Mass Appeal and Suckas Need Bodyguards.
