By "mixing" what do u guys mean? Like just adjusting sound etc? Im new to this and wanna know cus im a pretty good beat maker and it would be cool if i was a good mixer to.

yeah, adjust the volume and sound of everything for it to sound dope, also since we're not physically together nor can we send a finished part for someone to record over cuz it may mess up the quality, they gotta mix the acapellas in good so they're not off beat or anything

I wouldn't know how to break it down into technical terms but a lot of it has to do with basically making the vocals sound a certain way. Not necessarily clearer or of a higher quality, 'cause for example you might mix a certain set of vocals to sound muddy and filled with bass with an overwhelming reverb. But generally it is just an attempt to refine the raw vocals into a clear, compressed and equalized audio file with the highest quality possible.

Of course volume levels are a part of it but they're exactly that, only a part of it

Also I'd download that beat tape right now but my bandwidth is kind of running low so I'm tryna conserve. Could anyone post up Home Invasion? I have a lot of random scribbles of verses here and there I could throw on this, would be fun to record something I guess. Holla?

@Miller, bruh no one will hear you, just record. Each time I recorded music in the past I actually felt awkward starting, each session. So I started with a rendition of the verse that was quiet, monotonous, and rather whispered. Then I recorded over that, and while hearing that it kind of makes me want to be louder. And each attempt gets louder and more energetic than the previous. And eventually by the end of it I'm sucked up into the moment of recording that I don't even care about the fact that I live in an apartment where the walls are thin as fuck and I'm sure so many people can hear me screaming my ass off. Relax, mang. Try out what I did.
