Thank you! The funny thing is, my paper really isn't related to anything in English class lol. I just had to pick a research question and now I have to write a paper answering my question. But it has to be in MLA format and meet all the other requirements. It just sucks that its going to be worth 60% of my final grade. Thats the worst part.

You should've picked Hip-Hop as your topic and why it is one of the most versatile and ever-relevant genres out there. Also accentuating its artform and it's poetic prowess compared to others genre, and as an example you could use "Lose Yourself" and show all the highlighted rhymes throughout that song.

Reminds me of a paper I had to do in Sociology. I originally intended to research the positive repercussions of Hip-Hop on youth culture.

Honestly, think about it...take Eminem's music. Yes, he had the misogynistic stuff, the violent stuff, the drug abuse stuff...but he also had the inspirational shit, that stuff is a lot more prevalent in minds than, "I tried suicide once so I'll try it again".

His music was also awareness to a lot of things. MMLP honestly can teach you to not give a shit what people think of you. It's a subliminal message to be yourself, and also that not everything should be taken SO seriously - especially lyrics.

Instead, I couldn't find enough articles on that, so I had to settle on some bullshit about gender differences in the workforce...which, I'm sorry for the females, I couldn't give a fuck about

I agree 100%. I used to be very shy and I cared so much about what other people thought of me. But when I was 12, I started listening to Em and his music changed me and made me realize so many different things. And it wasn't just his music, his whole attitude taught me that if someone doesn't like me, then fuck them. I can definitely relate to what you said. Would have been a cool/interesting paper Its too bad you had to switch topics.

Research papers aren't too bad if you are researching a topic you like and genuinely want to know more about. But when you have to research a shitty topic you could care less about its awful.

Yeah, I mean...I was always really myself, but I was a VERYYYY shy child lol I hardly ever got angry, and then I went through some real hard, depressing times when I was 16 and I rediscovered how powerful Em's music was, then the light switched was flicked and I started allowing myself to get angry.

Lol, yeah when I say I don't give a fuck about what people think, its the people that aren't my family and friends. I don't go around all the time like "fuck you." Lol. But songs like Beautiful helped me through some really tough times. Its crazy how much Em's music has helped me in my life, and he doesn't even know it. But thats whats so great about music, its always there.
