"Stans"

Is it wrong that I feel bad for them?

I mean, I don't care if someone is only a casual fan of music and the only artist they listen to is Eminem. In fact, I'm not even saying anything is wrong with ONLY liking Eminem in general. Everybody has their reasons, some may only listen to him because of his signature voice/flow. I remember what it was like to do nothing but listen to music all day, but it was always the same artist: Eminem. The thing is, some people actually stay like this for a much greater length than we did.

Like I said, it's not a bad thing, It's just the image of it that makes me feel so sad for that individual. To not be able to get into any other artist, just trapped inside of that one moderate-length discography, having the same 150+ songs (With all of the good music at disposal today, this really isn't as much as it seems) on repeat forever, it's like musical isolation. Confinement. I don't know, something just makes me feel awkward when I think about it.

As usual, I hope I'm not alone on this

I don't feel bad for them. I think everyone eventually grows out of the "listening to one artist" phase. Sometimes it just takes a long time, which is unfortunate.

Even though I rarely show my "stan" side, I used to be big on Eminem's music and listen to 8 Mile and Rock Bottom all the time while walking home from school, he was at one point my most listened rapper next to Lil Wayne (lol). I played the fuck out of SSLP, but I dunno I guess I had a revelation and just decided to check out more music. I tend to isolate myself from Em's music, cause I know that if I did listen to his older albums, I'll probably be stuck in an endless loop of listening to them while isolating myself from other music for a long period of time.

Do I feel bad for the "stans",no not really, if they choose to be ignorant and stan it up at least they're listening to a half decent rapper that isn't complete shit.

Yes, I also have the D12 songs I like without Eminem saved as Eminem & D12 so that way they come up under the Eminem songs, and then I have his prank call skits, the Westwood radio sessions from 2000 & 03 and a funny ass Amsterdam interview he did in 99.

Personally I always wonder how people find time to listen to tons of artists and albums. I'm not even able to listen to Eminem the way I probably wanted. So music is not that important to me, I spend my time with other things. Eminem is sufficient for me, apart from actual hits of the mainstream. And I'm not really feeling I'm missing something, music isn't my hobby. It's like being fan of a football club, you don't necessarily need to follow all league matches of the other teams.

Eminem is possibly the only rap artist i consistently listen to for pure enjoyment. Like Venom said... u could easily get all the way up to 300 tracks by him (although the freestyles get stale fast). Evey other time i just turn up the radio, watch some tv or get one or two good tracks from an artist but never really go through full albums. When i do do that, its more so to understand the game, to evaluate them or some other technical shit but rarely to zone out and enjoy. Its a blissfull existence :flutter:

Anyways, I put 150+ so my first post still remains valid :shifty: . That wasn't part of the basis of it all either way.

the only "rap/hip-hop" I listen to is Eminem.

anything else will be the songs Em is featured in.

tbh, I don't really like the hip-hop genre, I just can't get into it.

my preferred music genre is the punk/rawk/pop scene.

I don't still listento Eminem and when I listen to him again, I take more pleasure and that's the same thing with all the artists I like.

Seriously, there are people who only listen to Eminem ! :confusion:
