Questions about mics + [Mix/Mastering tips?]

Since the mc lounge isn't a very active forum, i have a question for those who can help me.

It's about microphones. I always wanted to buy a good microphone and thought i'd buy an usb mic. But then I saw this :



Can I actually link the "studio" mic to this cable and then link the cable to the jack slot? I don't know if i'm clear enough..

usb mic...people say their bad but they can't be too bad if you put a good mix on your vocals

even if you're not serious just yet, don't waste money on a USB.. You'll regret it. And don't take shortcuts like that cable. If you want the best for what you can afford, buy a decent mixer and studio mic. You can get a reasonably good AKG or SHURE for around a buck 50. And a decent quality, 1 channel mixer only costs around $75. You'd spend that much on a good USB mic, for half the quality.

If he wanted a USB mic he would have to work extremely hard at learning about mixing and his recording environment to get decent quality, not that he wouldn't anyway.

It won't work if I buy the cable for now? it's less cheaper and i can't afford the channel mixer right now.. But i guess i'll buy one by the end of the summer.

Don't waste your money. Either buy a cheap mixer and condenser mic, or don't bother recording. End of story, honestly. If you simply want to record as a habit (which is retarded, in my opinion), do whatever you want, because obviously it's not that important to you.

Wasting money on a USB mic is pointless. It's $40-$80 you could have put toward decent equipment.
