What phone do you have? ( android or iphone poll)

I know, but I'm talking specifically about OS upgrades on older-ish phones.. like the S3.

I'm not trying to challenge you guys haha, I'm genuinely curious.

That depends on the carrier and Samsung.....its nothing to do with Android that's the thing...if you want a phone with updates right away you must go with a Nexus device because that's the true Android experience.

The S3 is an older phone and may not have the requirements to have the latest OS on the phone, i have the S4 and my phone is not rooted and i have the latest update on my phone.

I get what you're saying, but do you get what I'm saying too? I understand that there are ways around it.. but you have to admit its strange that they don't just... offer an OS upgrade. It would be so simple. Yes it it would work differently based on what device you have, but still. It's the same with iPhone... iOS7 looks different on an iPhone4 than it does on an iPhone5. However... at least we have the option.

Google Control Nexus ( Vanilla android, constant OTA updates)
Google does not control Samsung/HTC/Sony etc... (Android BASED Oses, slower updates)

Fucking relax, I'm allowed to ask questions. I didn't know that Samsung/HTC/LG ect had a hand in anything to do with Android itself, which is clearly why I was so confused. Heaven forbid one convo lead to more than one fucking question

You're basically calling me an idiot for not understanding with your "Jesus Christ, Samantha, Ray explained himself 5 times already" comment. I flat out said I don't know much about Androids and that I wasn't challenging anyone.. I was just curious about a few things. Yes, I'm going to ask more than one question! The average person that doesn't use Android would never know that other manufacturers have a whole other separate OS under Android's OS. That alone makes things different and confusing to a simple phone user.

With Google you purchase your phone directly from them, unlocked, ready to work on every single frequency in the entire world for a 1/4 of the price of the iPhone. I think the next nexus device is going to be very high end and the price will be a bit more expensive.
