Who Was/Is Your Idol

Postby James R. » Jun 22nd, '09, 01:40

Who is it that inspires you the most? Whether it be someone in the same field that you want to go into or just someone that you look up to. I'm thinking more well-known people, but if you wanna give a shouty to the moms/pops feel free.

in all seriousness, i don't really believe in heroes. i'm myself. don't look up to anyone, don't try to be like anyone. i'm myself, i do what i do, take it or leave it. maybe its cuz of the way i was raised/background, but thats just me

don't try n aspire to be like someone, just so i can say i did what someone else did. i can kinda understand as far as lookin up to someone for motivation to push u, but not be like them which is what a lot of people do do. they want to be consumed in everything a rap star/actor/celebrity of any kind is involved with which is fuckin ridiculous. live your own life and quit buyin them damn celeb mags do get the same dress as that fuckin cunt actress that doesn't even care about u

maybe a rant, but just my opinion :y: :b:

Eminem.

He showed the whole world it doesn't matter what you've been through and how fucked up your life is, you can still succeed if you put your heart into something you love. His life is similar to what I went through a couple of years back, not as extreme as his life was though, but it sure was fucked up. And this might sound Stan-ish, but his music really helped me through a lot of really tough days. And he inspired me to start rapping, and I thank him for that, because I love rapping. :worship:

Word up to D@vid. I don't think anyone should aspire to BE someone else. I was talking more about who inspires you to aspire to anything.

For me it'd be Jay-Z and Russell Simmons. Both grew up in the hood. Both sold drugs (though Russell didn't stick with it nearly as long). Both got out. Both have made great names for themselves. Both have proven to be forces in business beyond music. Both have done so much to show me that your background doesn't mean shit as long as you have a vision, even if that vision is getting coke, models, recognition, or just money. If you can see it you can get it. Gotta love those mother fuckers. :b: :b:

2Pac

He's never been such a great guy in the way of being a saint but he's made me realise how shit things can be.How much people can struggle, to make me realise that my own struggle is nothing in comparison to those he mentions. So to keep ma head up.
