Your views on Just Blaze's R2 production?

Postby MikeNUFC » Jan 27th, '10, 16:43

What are your feelings on it?

When I first heard, I was excited. Heard a lot of good things of Just Blaze as a producer and was nice to see Em working with people in the indsutry he wouldn't normally.

Then I researched more on JB and had a flick through his production discography and got slightly worried. I mean, he's a talented producer but the kinda songs he has produced don't sound like anything Em would even touch. I know some producers switch their style depending on who they are working with but a lot dont.

I still cannot wait for R2 but I hope the songs Blaze has produced dotn sound like some of his previous tracks.

Will be good to see how Em copes with a different style of producer though.

Sorry, if this topic has been done before, cant be bothered to look through 29 pages of topics...

Also feeling skeptical about his beats cause im not sure they will suit Eminem but Em must of picked him for a reason i suppose.

I wouldnt worry too much. He should easily beat most of the filler production from Relapse 1 to probably try show Dre up. Dre's going to come with his classic beats on Relapse 2 tho and he'l take blaze down there. ;)

I'm lookign forward to Mr Porters production. He has 1 or 2 tracks apparently and I assume one will be R2's D12 track. He has improved a lot as a producer over the last few years so will be interesting to see how he does on the album.

I think having different producers could boost Relapse 2's quality. I mean, the Dre beats on Relapse were all good, solid beats, but I wouldn't say they were any of his best. With different producers, surely Em is going to get the best out of them (Just Blaze as well as Mr.Porter). Dre has been working with Em for ages, but for JB and Mr.Porter it will be different, I mean, they will surely push themselves that bit harder to make a dope beat for Relapse 2, whereas Dre kinda has the comfort of knowing he will be able to produce Em tracks 'til he retires, so perhaps doesn't have to push himself to his limits to get a beat done. Not knocking Dre though, he's a legend. I guess we'll just have to wait and see with Just Blaze... :coffee:

Overall, IMO Marshall should produce a lot of Relapse 2 himself. I've said this before on topics - that he often calls on this guy called Luis Resto to help him with it, and the tracks that he has a hand in producing are usually my favourite. :y:

More producers means that only the best from each one will be on the album. So better quality overall. Plus it will push them all to compete with eachother. JB is thinkin he wants to hang with Dre or even show him up. Dre is thinkin he can't get shown up by JB, and Mr. Porter's best beat or 2 beats will be on the album.

I'm not familiar enough with Just Blaze to give an opinion on him. We'll see here in (hopefully) a few months.

I don't really know much of his stuff.

Well I do but inadvertedly. Like I'm not conscious that a lot of his beats are his beats. I don't really follow producers.

But from what I've heard, I automatically prefer him for Dre.

And Em with a new producer is very good. I think it will bring out sides of Em we haven't seen.

my views are pretty much nothing. I don't know much about Just Blaze. So once I hear some of the songs they are making together then I will decide :D LOL not to much input here. SO i am just going to wait until I hear the album/tracks that he has produced because no matter what he has produced for others, we don't know what his Eminem sound will be
