I think he has the capability to top TES. It shouldn't have stopped him from at least trying. So instead of an attempted hight quality album, we got a careless low quality album. But I mean it does reflect how he was then, he's discussed that he felt really depressed and unhappy and shit around that time so that album does reflect him in that way.

yea i understand what ur sayin. Overall, the album wasnt what the fans wanted out of it. But eminem works in weird ways and also genius ways. Like he says, he makes albums for his enjoyment. The concept was pretty much, i did everything i was suppose to do in the rap game, now im gona do and say whatver the fuck i feel like making, even if it doesnt make sense and still sell millions. Hes that good

I guess but selling millions doesn't necessarily mean your good. But it is a sign of how powerful his stardom was back then that he made an album that most fans didn't like and still sold amazing.

But those are the songs I think of when i think of encore lol. It boggles my mind why he made encore the way it was. I mean, imagine if he kept all the leaked songs that were supposed to be on it, including the songs on the 'bonus disc'. While it wouldn't have still been as good as the first 3, it wouldn't have been the disaster most of the hip hop world thinks it is.

Why do you have to think of those when you think of Encore? Those are just horrible songs, but Encore has so much better to offer.

Crazy In Love, Like Toy Soldiers, Evil Deeds, Yellow Brick Road, Mockingbird, 1 shot 2 shot, Encore/Curtains Close, Mosh.

Puke and Just Lose It are alright with me.

But look at those 8 songs.

A Lot better than most albums. But, definitely lacking in Em standards. In hip-hop in general though, it's not THAT bad.

Because the horrible stick out more than the good. Maybe I'm just picker than you but of the 8 "good" you posted, I only think 5 are good, the other 3 are alright (evil deeds, encore, 1 shot 2 shot). Even the good on this album are nothing compared to the good on his other albums. It's definitely better than many typical, mainstream albums either way you look at it, it's definitely a huge drop in quality compared to his other 3. Especially how from sslp-8 mile/tes, he seemingly had a flawless track record.

I feel that all tracks are good besides Rain Man, Big Weenie, My 1st Single, Just Lose It, Ass like That. The 1st 3 should have been replaced with Love You More, We As Americans, and Ricky Ticky Tock. Other 2 just goofy singles. Album was his worst to date, but still better than 80% of other shit out there.

If Em + Interscope just decided to make My 1st Single, Rain Man, and Big Weenie as the bonus tracks and leave the leaked trakcs on the real tracklist, Encore would be viewed as a lot better of an album.

back to the topic... yea there no way he preforming Relapse songs over a year after album was released. R2 should be out by June.

Here’s how I see it:

If we assume for a sec that Interscope/Eminem is using the same "release formula" as they did with Relapse (Announcement = ~2.5 months prior to album release & ~1 month prior to 1st single release - released on a Monday or Tuesday) + that they are aiming for a late May release - These are my speculated announce/release dates that I think are possible:

Release date: May 17/18 -> Announcement date: March 3/4
Release date: May 24/25 -> Announcement date: March 10/11

So, if Interscope/Eminem is aiming for a late May release, it's very likely that we'll have an album & single announcement soon!

Just my speculations though.
