I'll try to directly compare TES and Recovery since I think those are the ones with the most radio friendly material (you don't have to stick to those two if you don't want to). Note that I don't think there's anything wrong with an album being "mainstream" as long as the substance is still there. I love Recovery and TES. Technically all Em's albums are mainstream from Slim Shady LP onwards because of the sales, but you know what I mean lol.
You also gotta consider the time periods when judging. I'm gonna go off of what I think would have been big in 2002 for TES and what I think could be big in 2010 for Recovery.
TES:
White America - Could have been a single
Business - I think this technically was a single but a secondary one that isn't really a hit. For intents and purposes of being big commercially I'm gonna say "No."
Cleanin' Out My Closet - Single
Square Dance - Nah
Soldier - Could have been a secondary single
Say Goodbye Hollywood - Could have been a single
Drips - Definitely not lol
Without Me - Single
Sing for the Moment - Single
Superman - Single
Hailie's Song - Too personal to be a single. I like it as an album song, but Em shouldn't be putting out a song on the radio that's mostly singing
When the Music Stops - Not a single
Say What You Say - Not a single
Till I Collapse - I could EASILY see this as a single
My Dad's Gone Crazy - Secondary single
Recovery:
Cold Wind Blows - No
Talkin' 2 Myself - Probably gonna be a single
On Fire - No
Won't Back Down - Even though Pink does the chorus, this song is mostly for Em to display his wordplay/metaphors/punchlines/etc., so I'm going to say no
W.T.P. - No
Going Through Changes - Could be
Not Afraid - Single
Seduction - Not really
No Love - HELL YEAH
Space Bound - Could be
Cinderella Man - If Nate Dogg had done the hook then yeah, but I'm gonna say no
25 To Life - Could be just because the average listener will categorize it as a song about a girl even though it's not. I'm iffy on it though.
So Bad - Not really
Almost Famous - Catchy hook, but content makes me say no.
Love the Way You Lie - Do I even need to say it? Hell yes.
You're Never Over - Obviously an "album song"
Untitled (Here We Go?) - No
TES slightly ahead based on my judging. Anyone else wanna take a crack at it?
