After listeninge to Recovery a few times in it's entirety i came to the conclusion that it is a great album, but for me as a non-native speaker it's harder than ever to figure out what a song on Recovery is about and how it is structured (with this i dont mean like... "Oh Seduction... it must be about girls... oh there is a line "she loves me", k i was right, next song").
I don't know why, maybe it's the metaphors i don't get because my english skills aren't good enough. Somehow I'm missing the great storytelling skills of Em just like in Cleaning Out My Closet, Say Goodbye Hollywood, Sing For The Moment, Till I Collapse, Like Toy Soldiers, Stan, Marshall Mathers, Beautiful, Brain Damage, Rock Bottom... etc etc. In those songs i feel like every line is fitting perfectly into the theme of the song and i could copy hundreds of lines out of'em and relate them to my personal life. On Recovery i can't really relate to any song, maybe because it's HIS personal album plus it sometimes feels like he's putting metaphorical punchlines after another without telling a real story.
Don't get me wrong, i also like songs where he does this like No Love and so on, but i really miss any real storytelling song on this album. The only song which comes close to this in my opinion is "Going Through Changes".
So, please don't slaughter me for this one

Just wondering if it's just me
