How does Spacebound/25 to life....

How does Spacebound compare to his previous emotional type songs? 25 to Life?
I love them, but they have a feel that is unlike any of his previous records to me.

How do they compare to each other? Flow? Beat? Lyrical content? Previous albums?
Is Spacebound about kim? a gf?
Just a thought that keeps lingering around.

"Spacebound" I think is intentionally multi-dimensional but in an all around way about a woman. Why does it have to be about Kim. People are just so used to Em writing about real people they think every possible scenario has to now involve someone from his actual life.

It could just be a poetic ode. Doesn't literally have to be about anybody in particular.

As for "25 to Life" - That's about hip-hop. In that, he's now served his life sentence to hip-hop, that's why at the end he says he's divorcing it as his sentence is served. It's purposely meant to sound like it's about a female until you reach the end. That way your perception is pulled away at the last second and you have to go back to appreciate it in the proper context.

Both are superb writing. He's finally moving into a more intense arena in literary terms. Where a writer of his calibre should be moving. He was right that Relapse was just 'rap records'.

Most people just feel he's talking about a past experience, because it has so much emotion into it.

^ Yeah but that's because he puts his all into everything he does regardless. Whether he's murdering, crooning or fucking around he does it with absolute conviction. That's what a great artist should do.

Doesn't mean it has to be of a real event though. "Music Box" is intense too but am pretty sure that never happened either.
