Very positive Recovery review (One Thirty BPM)

Postby Matt21 » Jun 18th, '10, 10:03

After Pitchfork trashed the album, another hipster site reviews Recovery and it's a very positive review: http://onethirtybpm.com/2010/06/18/albu ... -recovery/

"If any sanity remains in this damaged hip hop climate, this record will turn up the heat in a big way. If Drake’s Thank Me Later is global warming, then Recovery is the salvage plan. It’s certainly going to create quite a bit of noise. A lot of it is probably going to come from something simple: Eminem is back to making sick records again. The crater he’d created in the game that was just beginning to mend is going to have to reopen."

Score: 91/100

And if you look at their other recommended albums, a lot of it is indie/hipster stuff, which says something about Recovery. Unlike Pitchfork, they didn't take the easy road and knew before they listened to it that they'd trash it, but actually gave it a fair chance.

It seems to me that Recovery will get either good or bad reviews. Relapse was mediocre and I think the reviews reflected that (actually, Pitchfork's review was surprisingly decent). With Recovery, people will either like or hate the direction Eminem has taken and there will be almost no in between.

Pitchfork and Slant are fucking idiots and hate Eminem. It's so obvious it's personal.

They bag on an album just for the sake of bagging on an album. Especially Slant.

Like I said before, they all have diarrhea-for-brains :coffee:
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.
