DJ Booth Recovery Review

Postby EminemBase » Jun 18th, '10, 20:07

Right: Here.

They gave it 3.5 / 5.

But named "Cinderella Man" and "You're Over" two of the worst tracks and "Won't Back Down" as one of the best. For me, they have that backwards.

But it's not a total trashing, I think it's fair from their perspective. I just disagree.

Its not a bad review, its fair..........Em went outside the box alot on this album, from what he's known for and also with the beats, when you do that your not gonna please everybody....It is what it is, the review was fair, I disagree with alot of it but I see where they coming from

Yeah but they're wrong in saying it's the least pure hip-hop Eminem.

That's nonsense. Just because it's got samples and those guests lmao? Rubbish.

Em's spitting mostly for the sake of it on this album, it's crammed with metaphors n similes. He's got concepts, hardcore flows - It's pure hip-hop. That IS hip-hop.

Alot of the beats have an Accoustic Rock feel to them, others have a kinda techno vibe, Its alot more spread out then just beats and rhymes so I see the point he was making, I personally loved the Beats to "25 to Life" and "Space Bound" but they certainly have a rock vibe to them, "No Love" sounds like the beat it was sampled from, a Techno/Disco-tech type beat..........Still good stuff but you gotta be open minded and like more then just rap to dig them

Yeah but point is Eminem isn't... Compromising any of the values of hip-hop or himself in order to accomplish these new sounds. The BEATS may be different, the production may be less traditional hip-hop but as for Eminem, as an artist. He's as true to hip-hop as ever on Recovery.
