It feels like a sister track to "Till I Collapse".

In terms of the lyricism, the main theme about the song is about stopping time with his music. As the chorus says "Music is my time machine".

So Em probably heard that in the chorus and drew most of the lyricism from that. Hence why he cuffs the hands of time and other metaphysical things in various spots to suggest he can stop time. Another example is when he says...

"Rewound the future to the present, paused it - Don't ask how / Fuck the past mother fucker, he's the shit right now"

Which is one of my favourite lines on the album. The flow, lyrics, concept.... The entire song is just awesome I don't know how an Em fan could really dislike it. "I SHUT YOUR LANE DOWN, TOOK YOUR SPOT PARKED IN IT TOO".

It's also (like many things on the album / including the 'box' cover) a multi-dimensional metaphor. Aside from stopping time and thus 'Cinderella Man' because of that, it also works as a metaphor in terms of him coming back against the odds. As it was the nickname of a former pro heavyweight who career-wise faced a similar situation as Em at one point.

Which seems far too relevant to be a conscience. So am sure Em is aware of it.

So there's multiple metaphors and themes going on. The production, sounds good to me, the lyricism is top-notch, the idea is golden and the flow is badass. Can't see what's not to like.

Surely you could write a couple more lines?!

Imo Cinderella Man is the best (along with Going Through Changes) is the best song on the album.

I absoultely hate the whole repeated "Cinderella Man, cinderella man" etc.etc. I'd rather have that all removed and have a straight up long ass n.igga verse cause the verses are fire
