Relapse was not radio friendly and Recovery is but...

In the end, based on the estimated numbers, they both sold closely the same amount.

So that just tells you that no matter what Em does, the fans will buy it. I hope that next album, like kamilniewulis said, he will do something more hardcore all around, cuz it really doesn't change anything to his sales

I disagree.
People bought Relapse cause it was his comeback album, NA got the fans who gave up on Em interested again and the leak probably helped the sales cause of word of mouth that Em was back. If he stuck with bringing out Relapse 2 I'm sure there wouldn't be half as much sales.

That's what half of Encore was about.

Lol pretty much

There's always gonna be a group of people who will buy whatever he puts out because it's an Eminem album; sadly, some of us here also fall into the category (myself included). But i think Relapse enjoyed popularity mainly because it was his comeback album, and i still think We Made You was way more successful than Not Afraid. I've heard way more people quote We Made You and barely anyone mention Not Afraid; i'd say about two people have mentioned it in total.

you guys act like first week sales are everything.. They aren't.

Relapse did horrible sales wise, but it did great first week wise.

Recovery on the other hand, I feel is going to be both great first week and overall.

Yeah, now that the numbers are official I take back what I said. That's quite impressive.

Well for Eminem's standards you could say it's horrible. He's pretty much doing Encore numbers with Recovery. (first week wise)
