good read, but i hate it when people don't get it.

"There's a lot of typical rap bravado about conquering other artists' girlfriends and whatnot,..."
:facepalm

Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

He does talk about it in So Bad and Seduction though, this reviewer isnt missing the mark as bad as some of the others. But yeah, its not really "alot".

Omg, haven't people here even got it?
He desn't talk about anyone's girlfriend, he is using the same metaphores as in 25 To Life, but on these other tracks he doesn't make it so obvious by revealing it at the end. Listen to Seduction and tell me he ain't rapping about the hip hop game, the rap industry etc. All these "love" tracks is about his relationship with the game.

Ok well its very easy to interpret it as a girl in Seduction so I'll forgive him for that. I actually like to see it that way when I listen to the song. Also in "So Bad", Em mentions wanting the girl to differentiate him from the other fake g's... so is the whole of "So Bad" also just about hip-hop. He'l probably listen to the disc again and see it another way.

I know, it's really easy to interpret it as love songs, that's why it's so genius. Em has left clues all over the tracks, lines that makes it clear it's about the hip hop game, but you have to pay attention.
Like this line from LTWYL;
"And I love it the more I suffer, I suffocate
And right before I'm about to drown, she resuscitates me, she fuckin' hates me"

Man, you are gonne enjoy your next spin of Recovery :flower:

Love the Way You lie is NOT about the hip-hop game. He's already done a song with that metaphor, 25 to Life. Why would he have two songs with the same concept?

I agree about Seduction, it is about the seduction of his music. But the one being seduced isn't women, but the hip hop world/game/industry.
Can you tell me what LTWYL is about then? It is definitly not about woman, that's for sure. But I'm open for theories, that was just how i interpreted the song.

It's about violent relationships and how they come to be (IMO). Eminem is the violent aggressive man, Rihanna plays the female victim (as she did in real life)

Sound reasonable, so many ways to interpret things. I had my mind stuck on one thing, but i read the lyrics again and maybe it isn't more to it then you said. Since so many songs lyrics are metaphorical i kinda made it so with LTWYL as well.
Cool beans bro :D

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the ending to this piece

Wow, people looking for "deep metaphors" everywhere. Sometimes things are less complicated than you would like.

They already reviewed the album and the other guy didn't give it a good review. Metacritic should use this review

And Seduction is about Hip Hop. I don't think most people have picked up on that. I think he's talking about seducing hip hop.
