There is NO story in Underground. The song has a few references to drugs, but it is hardly about drugs. It's mot about killing people in weird ways.

And how is Eminem "rapping as an underground artist" in underground? Please don't tell me you think that because of the name....

He's rapping like fucking Eminem. That's the Eminem of the SSLP/MMLP days.

Erm, no. He's rapping like he's in the hip hop shop. Completely random fucking lyrics. Em in SSLP/MMLP was telling more stories, making more sense. In the Hip Hop Shop days, and in Underground, he was just rhyming words that rhymed - completely random.

And there is a slight story in there. See my post on the first page.

When I hear it I'm instantly reminded of Just Don't Give a Fuck.

AF is nothing like Underground. And every song has a slight story, but it's more or less fabricated by the listener. AF is a full out concept track with a story.

He's rapping like fucking Eminem. That's the Eminem of the SSLP/MMLP days.

How is he rapping as an underground artist, you ask? He's spitting the "sickest shit" he could think of, like he did in the Hip Hop Shop days. This is not debatable. Eminem has said in an interview (I believe the Pre-lapse special) that the whole concept of Underground is rapping as if he's back in the Hip Hop Shop and he's not signed. Yes, that's why it is called Underground. What, you think he's rapping about catacombs?

In the recent interview Eminem did explaining some of the Recovery songs, he also said Almost Famous was going back to the Hip Hop Shop days, rapping as if he was underground/unsigned again. How the fuck is the song "nothing like Underground"?

The only difference between the two songs is that Almost Famous does a better job overall and does indeed have a story arc to it.

Are you a fucking retard?

I'm back for revenge, I lost the battle, that ain't happening again
I'm at your throat like strep, I step strapped with a pen
Metaphors wrote on my hand, some are distorting my mem-ory
Some are wrote on a napkin, do what I have to to win

...

you're full of it, you were dissing his CD's
Laughed at Infinite, now he's back like someone pissed in his wheeties
No peace treaty's, he's turned into a beast
His new Slim Shady EP's got the attention of the might DRE

...

Now there he goes, in Dre's studio, cupping his balls
Screaming the wood off the panelling, cussing the paint off the walls
Spewing his hate to these haters, showing no love for these broads
He ain't giving 'em shit, he's scissor pinch a penny so hard

...

he's fucking had it
He's mad at the whole world, so go to hell and build a snowman, girl
The bullies become bullied, the pussies get pushed

They better pull me, take me back to 9th grade to school me
Cause I ain't looking back only forward, this whole spot blowing
Who coulda known he'd grow to be a poet and not know it

...

this world ain't gonna know what hit it, he did it, he made it, he's finally famous!

Yeah, no story arc at all.

I pointed "only" as if its just a lil difference between song with story and no story.I know that AF has a story. :shakehead:
You said only difference is AF has a story, thats not a small difference

Yeah and a huge difference in my book is that AF has a story in it.Underground looks like a child rap compered to AF

Almost Famous is the better song...something you can play an infinite number of times...but Underground was great for a few listens. It was the nostalgic song many of his fans (including me) dreamed of where he snapped out of his comatose state and proved he could still do it, returning to his old self...rising from the ashes as you go, "HOLY FUCK...where is this coming from?" while checking your calendar to see if it's 2001.

I remember the first time I listened to it. I sat there and was both excited and nervous at the same time...I was biting my nails when he started to get into the angry voice, waiting for it to return to the shitty pill-era anger voice...only for him to pass the test. For the rest of the song, I just sat there smiling. It was awesome.

Problem is, once you come to terms with the fact that he's truly back, the song loses its luster. This is one instance where "lacks replay value" actually has some merit. I haven't listened to it in months.
