on the last verse, he moves the mic but the track is still going and it's really loud.

Sounds like the track is playing in the background, but he's spitting over it. You can really notice when he stops to take a breath and Mr. Porter has to finish the line. No way is he lip syncing.

Edit: And obviously it's live, you can see him in front of a crowd :/

He needs to get rid of the background track and realize he doesn't need to yell as loud during live shows. Switch it up from the album. That's the whole point of being live. U don't have to sound just like the album.

I admire an artist who can replicate the sound of a mastered album track in a live performance. I see what you mean though, but to me it would just be great to watch him perform the song and see him spit it perfectly.

On lots of his live preferences he has the track playing in the background.

The reason why he has a background track is probably if he fucks up a line, he can get his flow back and find out where he is on the track, if you get what i mean.

Now about the lip syncing, what is happening is the vocals are being played, but at a low level, whilst he is rapping over them.

Rap isn't like other genres. THere is a lot more emphasis on lyrics. SOme of that stuff takes a few takes and I'd imagine it easy to forget certain lines when there is so much to remember. That's why I said he should try to duplicate the studio version. Just be himself. Whenever he does stan, he's so natural and I never even hear background vocals other than the chorus. I just hate that.

It sounds nothing like the studio, but people are still enjoying it.

Eminem has never needed studio equipment to sound good. He has tons of experience in battles...spitting for random people who find him in a bathroom...doing radio free verses...he'll rap for you anywhere, any time...and sound better than you. There's no "wizard of oz" factor with him.

usually he uses the back-up tracks while singing choruses mainly because he can't sing imo. Or sometimes his songs contain some layering in vocals. Like a low and high pitched voices are heard at the same time. He needs a back-up track in order to achieve this effect. If you listen to his show in Switzerland (and there's one rip with a decent audio), you can barely hear any back-up tracks. It was all life.

Every time the sound guy realizes there's some problem with the mic, which is very common during such huge shows, he can use the back-up track in order to improve the sound quality.

Maybe is not good he's such a perfectionist either. You can tell he knows how to pronounce every syllable which makes his live performances to sound almost identical to the actual record. In other words he's often so good that people accuse him of lip-synching.

When? I just watched the whole last verse again. Only time he moved the mic away was to let Mr. Porter say a word or two. It's live.

Backing track is there for the chorus and if he gets out of breath.
