They're upset that Rihanna's only part in the video was singing the chorus? Well if they didn't notice, Eminem's only part in the video was rapping his verses. And they also don't like that she's doing a song that she relates to personally because it's "uncomfortable," she's the artist here, not them. :facepalm I think this makes Rihanna a better artist by doing a song of this subject matter.

would he rather have it gleefull?

Yes, what's making this video so insanely popular now is everybody debating it. And every blog that brings it up for discussion links to the video and makes it even more widely known.

And to go all PSA, that's good, isn't it? That people discuss the subject matter? Oh and that NPR article clearly doesn't get the concept of the song IMO. Rihanna is the repetitive chorus because it's an endless cycle of dysfunction and self-delusion to stay in abusive relationships, but the victim never manages to break out and forgives and comes back again and again. The repetitiveness is supposed to be creepy. But what do I know...
