Yeah Eminem Show explains it all.

That kick-hat-clap-hat-kick-hat-clap-hat pattern which he frequently uses in his beats is kinda boring tho.

That's among his best.

It's awful IMO.

I assume you're not a synth fan?

I loved all his beats on Devils Night, The Eminem Show, most the songs he produced on Encore were tight(Toy soldiers, Love You More, etc) Renegades of Course, Most the Stuff on Obie's album, but somewhere around 2005 all his shit started sounding the same to me

Shouldnt remix such a classic beat. Was in his hiatus to be fair.

Never heard it before, but i don't find it bad. I like the beat
They claim that I'm violent, just cause I refuse to be silent
These hypocrites are havin fits, cause I'm not buyin it
Defyin it, envious because I will rebel against
any oppressor, and this is known as self defense
I show no mercy, they claim that I'm the lunatic
But when the shit gets thick, I'm the one you go and get
Don't look confused, the truth is so plain to see
Cause I'm the nigga that you sell-outs are ashamed to be

He's actually one of my favorite producers. He makes really good beats when he tries to. All of the best beats he's rapped over has been his own beats.

Amadeo wrote:Much like his abilities as a rapper, the quality of his production depends on drugs/no drugs variable:

Beats he made when off pills (all great):

- 'Till I Collapse
- Lose Yourself
- Sing For The Moment
- Hailie's Song
- White America
- Criminal
- Kim

Beats he made when on pills (all shit):

- My 1st Single
- Fack
- Touchdown
- We Ain't
- Gatman & Robbin
- Peep Show
- Shady We're Back
- You Don't Know

ummm.... well all those beats that u put in ur list of "all shit" were not bad beats.... just because he didnt do a great job rapping doesnt mean the beat sucked.... and gatman and robin is dope as fuck....and i wouldnt be so sure about eminem being off pills when he did Kim and criminal......

on topic,,, what is that song that eminem produced recently that had kid cudi on the chorus? i remember thinkin that was dope

Em is actually a talented producer. I like most of his beats, there is only a handful that didn't settle with my ears.

Possibly the most hit and miss producer i've ever heard. He either comes with classic, or utter trash (more the latter since ES). So i guess that levels him out as average.

He just needs to learn some new tricks or find 'his sound' that's all. Once you've found your sound, you can go to town with it, but until then, he'll stay being inconsistent.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

he's pretty good, the thing that impresses me most about Em's production is that he's got his own sound, and it really compliments his rapping, imo
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
