He said a year ago that it is difficult to get beats on an Eminem album because he is so close with Dr. Dre but things have changed since then. Although most producers would love to get beats on his album strictly because of his fame, I think Pete Rock is a genuin fan of Em's work. I remember he praised the fuck out of his verses on Renegade in the very same interview.
What happened to 45 king? Pete Rock has the same soulful sound as the Stan beat so it would be great if they tried to capture that magic again.
I'm not buying all this "he only chooses beats with mass appeal". Honestly, there is a lot of beats on Recovery with zero hit potential, and even beats from a producer that is a totally no-name. Well, I still don't know who he is (the guy who produced WTP).
Fuck it... I can't load the interview. When I started writing this incoherent nonsense I actually thought they wouldn't be great together but after reminding myself of Stan, I'm actually pissed he has refused to work him so far.
