If Recovery was Eminem's comeback album.....

It ain't that Relapse wasn't a good album, I mean Eminem shouldn't throw off on it, but it just wasn't a comeback album...Recovery fits the position perfectly. On Relapse, he didn't humbly address his drug addiction and instead of being emotional for most of the album he just talked about raping and killing women.

I think if they were released Recovery then Relapse, Relapse would have gotten better praise.

I don't think you can really group his albums like that.
Relapse was just as much "women killing" as Marshall Mathers LP, and killing his mother and wife wasn't really the jist of that album either.
Recovery and HTS had the same amount of yelling and punchlines, and storytelling/industry mocking can be used to describe any of his albums.
So yeah, this is way too general. Except for "Encore - Fart sounds", that sums it up pretty much.

How do people not see the purpose of this thread? I was trying to bring up the idea that Relapse was never created and Recovery had come out in 2009 instead as his comeback album. I don't think it would have been hated as much because Recovery would have been a major improvement on Encore. People didn't know what to expect with Eminem coming back after 5 years not releasing a solo album, we were just hoping he would come back with something great.
