Commentary: Eminem needs to recover old style

I think Eminem is 10 happier now when he's performing and here some reasons why.. When he performed back at the time, he never seen the crowd, or the people that are in it. It was all blur, he said it himself. Now he can see how people love him, with the lighters, the hands up, with them singing his songs.

I think he only realise now how many fans he have.. when he have more than 90 000 persons chanting his songs, calling him..

I wanted to say that too,but I didn't want to make my thread too long...I think he said this in 60 minutes...Now he looks at the crowd,Before it was a big blur.

I read this continually and I don't understand it.

Mostly in his interviews for Recovery. He looked so serious, I guess it was because of the questions they were asking but he rarely any cracked jokes etc. He looks like he's having fun again with Royce (especially the livestream they did) but I still can't help but feel with his life now, all the security he needs just to go out, it's not that fun for him.

See, I didn't get "serious" from most of Em's Recovery interviews. Jonathan Ross, 60 Minutes, Shade 45...he was cracking jokes and smiling. Obviously in some them, the direction of the interview didn't allow him to loosen up, but when he wasn't talking about almost dying and doing drugs, he seemed happy.

SSLP-Em was struggling to make it, he was poor. Life sucked then. He was desperate.
MMLP-He got his chance, he got to show the world how good he was. And the world was just bitching. He was mad.
TES-He was a superstar, his life became a public thing. Burden of fame+Kim and all that shit. He was like-fuck it, I`ll let you have it all.

Eminem needs drama to be at his best. He needs real emotions to make brilliant songs. He is just too happy now. He can go back to Slim Shady mode and bash the shit out of everybody, but he is like 40 now and that would not work. I would love it, but only in a few songs maybe. I think we will never see Em as he was back in the days. Maybe I`m wrong, lets hope so.

Whoever wrote that article, that Ryan dude, he dosent understand that Em is not a generic artist. He cant just go back in his MMLP state of mind and do music.

It's because people like a comeback story. They make movies about guys who overcome adversity and get back to the top. They make movies about the stuff Eminem packed "Relapse" and "Recovery" with. The rapper came out of rehab and decided that he wanted to live up to those expectations. He wanted to rise out the gutter as the people's champ, and that meant ditching his old ways of celebrity bashing and shock inducing. He needs to realize that he's just not that guy.

It's obvious that Eminem is happy/content with his life now.

That's why it's so funny to read stupid YouTube comments like "eminem doeznt smile anymore becuz hes depressed about proof dying"...he doesn't smile because he's self-conscious about looking goofy and he has a deadpan sense of humor. Plus, there's nothing funny about being asked the same questions over and over again.
