It's Em's biggest flaw and the only major thing outside of laziness, drugs or goofiness that fucks up his output. As an artist, you should just create things you think are brilliant. If other people like it, great, what a great bonus.

But if you ever make it your aim, to make certain people like it, or present it X way or compromise Y or Z, you've already failed at being a true artist.

Unfortunately, I feel like Tech has started to forget this himself. All 6's and 7's was littered with songs that fell short for me--mainly because it seemed like he was trying to appeal to clubs or women with some of his "sex" songs, for lack of a better term. His previous albums have songs like this too, but not to the degree that this one did.

He seems to have stopped focusing on making good art, and started to focus on constructing albums that make sense for business. I understand his motivation for this, but it only motivated me to give his album away and make a mental note not to look out for the next one.

Of course, not everyone will agree, and that's fine with me. I'm glad that they can enjoy Tech's new stuff. I just wish I could.
