Really? wow, I find that odd. Just because... well I analyze everything like that, I can't help it. And you just sort of assume other people are doing it too...

But of course we're all analyzing it a bit differently and with different intelligence etc.

I've had a lot of comments in the past on blog posts basically saying they liked it because I broke it all down, I'm surprised by how many people don't analyze by themselves.

Guess it depends what type of person you are, I was always naturally good at English though so maybe that's why I've been sucked in to dissecting Eminem so much.

For me, whenever I analyze something like that, I start thinking of EVERY possible scenario or possibly. I suppose that might be the mind state I should have, really.

Well you don't have to think, if you listen to his music you can hear why he is unique...

So you just figure out what makes him unique from listening and knowing what he does, and then break down how he's doing that.

One of the other things that makes him very unique is his humour. Not the silly zany stuff or shoving stuff up asses, I mean his classic BITING wit.

So you have the combination of melodically structured sentences that are intricately rhyming and the lines are genuinely funny! that's why he's so popular.

It's very hard to make authentic music funny. There's lot of comedy bands but they simply become novelty. Eminem is constantly being funny in his music, there basically isn't a single song where he doesn't display wit or sarcasm, or self-deprecation in some form...

And whilst of course other rappers are sarcastic and witty, I've never heard a GENUINELY funny one. I mean some of the ideas Em had in his prime would be the envy of comedians. In fact Ricky Gervais called Eminem a comedy genius.

These lines of bizarre wit, such as saying he was a premature birth that was four minutes late. That's so original and brilliant.

Another small example I like from "Say What You Say" when he says...

"If I could only use this power for good, I wouldn't... not even if I could!"

That is genuinely funny to me. I don't roll on the fall laughing but it's a genuine comedic element, he's being spiteful... not even, if he could lmao. So he's implicating himself as an evil person, he's proud of it, he's announcing he wouldn't do it even if he had the option...

He's always funniest when being spiteful...

"Locked in a cellar, developing anorexia, while I'm standing next to ya - eating a full course meal"

That imagery is just hilarious. The spite of locking somebody in a cellar, starving to the point of illness and standing there eating a 'full course meal' lmao. It's the detail as well. Even when I hear other rappers come up with similar or quite witty ideas, they usually botch it in the phrasing. Comedic wit in a lyrical context is so delicate, one word can make it unfunny...

So a lesser lyricist would of perhaps just said 'eating a meal' or just generically referred to food somehow. Where as Em goes one further, a 'full course' meal.

Okay babbling now!

Ahh, so THAT'S mainly the key, spiteful wit. What wouldn't you say is his greatest use and element specifically?

What wouldn't I say?

Do you mean what do I think he's worst at?

(also, that's not a big part I doubt, I'm just saying, it's one of a few things that make him unique)

Em clearly has a brain 'made' for language too. You'll notice he often knows a lot of characters or just pops a little fable or reference in a line constantly... some of the things he knows I'm very surprised at. Especially considering he had so little education. But if your brain is high-functioning in the language areas, you'll soak up and excell with words regardless.

I "dissect" his music to a certain extent but I don't go nearly as in depth as you haha.

It seems like the majority of the people listening to Eminem don't do much thinking though. I often wonder if other Eminem fans really do "get" what they're listening to, because it mostly seems like they really don't understand half of what he's trying to do.

It's a shame because they're missing out on what I think is the best part. They would probably benefit from reading a few articles on your blog lol.

We can never predict what's round the corner though...

We can try, but who the fuck saw Eminem coming. Especially after 2Pac.

Eminem and Tupac are two different Artists known for their unique style and novelty. Both of them did their own thing and were known for that only.

Tupac was known for speaking his mind in the most poetic way imaginable, I'm not saying Eminem didn't do that, Eminem did his own interpretation of things. Both talked about the things that they endured growing up, the context being different for each of them. The situation that they dealt with was the major point of difference between the two. Tupac talked about his Ghetto upbringing and Eminem on the other hand talked about the trashy life that he got as a gift(lol).

Eminem took inspiration from his Music and didn't bit it, he molded it in his own way. He didn't aim to become the Next Tupac or Biggie, he became a unique Artist spilling his heart out.

So if any one has to surpass Eminem needs to make his own identity and bring something new to the table. Mr.Don't Give A Fuck was branded by Eminem and will go with till his grave.

With everything that has been said in Rap, It's hard to Imagine if anyone can actually make a name for himself as big as Eminem. Eminem literally become a godly figure, replacing him is a hard task.

Nothing can be said right now, only time will tell.
