Think about it: The reason 8 Mile was so successful was because Eminem knew his surroundings. He's been in that environment before. A boxing movie? Eminem isn't a boxer (at least I don't think so).

He doesn't need to worry about topping his other albums, that's what can drive him insane. He needs to worry about what sounds good to him. If his motive is to release an album superior to the last one, then he's not doing it for himself, he's doing it for the fans. He doesn't care what they say, despite what he's said in recent songs ("Not Afraid"), just take a look at Encore.

Actually, he boxed for years. He had some famous boxer giving him lessons in like...2001? I think he stopped boxing when he started running, though, because we haven't heard anything about his boxing since before Relapse.
