That's without doubt the most creative interpretation I ever read concerning Stan.

What about Rewind?
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

what makes that song so great, aside from the storytelling and his execution of it, to me, is simply the fact it was on his sophomore album only a year after his debut dropped. he didnt reach his peak in "stans" until probably 8 mile, and to come up with that so early in his career, one in which would make him the greatest selling and most cared about rapper of all time is more mind blowing sometimes than the song itself.

I think Kim is often overlooked as a great storytelling song just because of how intense it is

Don't forget about the whole concept that encompasses the song. Because it decided his approach towards it. He knew that the concept would work wonders, keeping in mind that he had to do something big for his 2nd Album, and not to be labeled as an one hit wonder. I think this propelled him to make this song the way it is.

Every celebrity has a fan or two, who's completely obsessed with them. Eminem is no exception. No one has ever expressed it in open in such a manner. The fact that Stan is an ADULT, makes it more realistic to comprehend as a a character in the song. Imagine a kid doing the same, seems a little too much, I mean, with the whole killing his girl and shit. Kids were influenced, but they had parents to guide them, but, Stan is shown as an individual, who lives n a house with his GF, that makes sense for me.
