Eminem's songs get played out a lot quicker these days

Postby Hopsinshadie » Sep 25th, '12, 00:27

When HCTW first came out, I was ecstatic about it. Now that a couple of weeks have gone by, I forgot all about it. It's as if it came out 3 years ago. Eminem needs to make songs that have staying power, songs that you will stay with you for a long time. Tupac and Biggie made songs that lasted a long time. LTWYL was probably the closest thing to it. You still hear it on the radio once in a while.

I actually have to agree with this. Even regarding the fact that we've only had features from him since Recovery, I still find his older features from the SSLP/MMLP era draw me in more and make me want to listen to them more. Maybe it's the sound of the tracks in general, the good beats, the rhyming, the witty wordplay or that voice, he hasn't really captured that organic ability he had to literally jump on a track and deliver an astonishing verse, which sounded so natural you would think he was just spitting it out on the spot.
"Oh, he'll give us what we need.
It may not be what we want."

Only songs I listen to off Recovery now is 25 to life, almost famous. Every once in a while seduction and on fire.

But what about____ :'( No. Recovery has no Replay value for me. It didn't grow on me like everyone said it would. The same way encore didn't grow on me.

They got played out a lot quicker because the songs aren't good.

You mean songs talking about holding hands, apologizing for his own music and I GUEZZ DATZ Y DEY CALL IT WINDOW PAYNE HURR HURR hasn't held up over time? Well color me shocked.

I've listened to Relapse more since Recovery came out than Recovery.

So this is wrong.

So do i but rarely, a lot has to do with factors that changed, like not lifting at home anymore for the most part where I always played music. But I still bump TES and mmlp and those albums are a decade old, so to me thats where i was coming from.

Not so for me, I skip songs from SSLP and MMLP way more than Relapse and Recovery.

The recent features, on the other hand, I do tend to skip...everything after 2010, except for the Slaughterhouse features. Haven't had the chance to download the Pink feature yet because I'm at school and we can't download anything on their internet, but I've listened to it on Youtube a couple times a day since it leaked.

It's a bitch, isn't it?

I don't even know if I can download free mixtapes or not, I want to download that new Swifty mixtape but don't know if I can.

LOL yeah, shit's crazy. I can't have my financial aid taken away. :zipped: I forgot and downloaded a movie, but remembered right after I clicked the button, so I canceled it before it had even got past 0%. Scared the crap out of me, I hope that doesn't count.

Yeah but HCTW is hardly an Em song; it's just a little Em verse on it.

If I leave Relapse or Recovery alone for a bit and go back to them, they still sound fresh and have a new life to me, I think regardless of what anybody thinks of either album... (and I don't think either are classics) ; he's definitely created a lot of new, timeless material for me.
