The Black Eyed Peas have changed a LOT musically since 1999. They've gradually changed from hip hop to dance music. I doubt he'd listen to their recent songs, but he probably still "appreciates" them, if you get what I mean. Especially now, he doesn't really hate other people's music like he used to.

Eminem knew Redfoo from LMFAO back in 1999 aswell I think. And Redfoo has also changed from hip hop to dance over the years.
