Sometimes ppl are mad when an artist gets the attention instead of their favorite artists.
Kendrick won in every imaginable way this year and his instant success was obvious the day the album leaked. :flutter: (it was already obvious with s80 though)

Please, if you're gonna argue, bring some good points to the table; otherwise GTFO. As I mentioned earlier that I'm a fan too. But, it's beyond limits to see the level of attention that this is getting when it doesn't deserve that much. You're dick riding him as if he jizzed in your mouth when you were dying of thirst. I fucking loved Sec.80 more than this shit and would have appreciated if the critics would have felt the same. I nowhere said that I hate him, lol. Get a grip.

Don't bother people saying the album is overrated, everybody doesn't need to like it... the exact same shit happened when TSSLP or other great albums came out.

You contradict yourself so beautifully that I feel ashamed to even consider your post. :facepalm

Here's what I don't get about this forum....People are hating on some of recovery b/c they think em uses "the easy way to rhyme" (a quote i saw), and then they go and praise k dot. I like kendrick, his flow and story telling abilities are insane, but he doesn't rhyme very well. He rhymes one syllable A LOT, and people who are hating on em for that in some songs are letting k dot get away with it? I don't get it.

Rhyming is the first thing I look for in songs and therefore Kendrick can't be MY favorite rapper out there right now. That's why I like J. Cole more than him, and especially why I like Tech more than him.

I'm not the most seasoned Kendrick listener but I think he's got some pretty complex, dense rhyming

so if u look at rhymes first, do you think this right here:
Got me a top notch
Straight hot fox
We sought rocks
And the Ewok Slot
Was caught
Got dropped two
Playing hopscotch
On the block
Ought not twat plot
Yo for hops knot
I brought dots

is better lyrically than this:
Niggas as tall as Yao Ming
With L-U-P-Emperor
Is the foundation's, I-beams and the antennas
It's so serious every time I write my John Hancock like
Could damn near see Detroit, I see you
Niggas is scared of heights
This is Saran Wrap and aluminum foil
Some potpourri, a little machine oil
I stack my paper and throw off my scents
This is top floor, better look out below
Pennies from heaven is the same as a semi from the second
And I reign supreme
Turn your umbrellas upside down
Did you even catch the change in theme

listen to what the rapper is saying, ignoring that completely and judging a song on how many syllables are rhymed, even if the lyrics don't make any sense, is idiotic.

^ notice how i said it's the FIRST (not the only) thing i look for in songs....if the dude isn't rhyming I'm not really all that interested in them as an artist. However, its the few artists that can make their lyrics rhyme and go together to tell a story or form a concept that I am attracted to the most.

If you read all of my post you would understand that I can still be a k dot fan because he tells incredibe stories. I just can't put him higher than A FEW rappers b/c I don't appreciate his rhyming skills as much as I do others who can also tell stories or form concepts.
