Unique ways of creating art

I was watching that 60 minute interview with Em and started thinking about the part where he showed his box with his lyrics in them. The way he collects thoughts, random words, ideas is really interesting to me.

It's not like he always just sits down and just makes these songs. They are pieced together over time.

I think it's really cool how people put together their art in unconventional ways.

One of my favorite comedians, Bill burr, doesn't write jokes. He just talks about his life, he adds new material slowly, phasing out old jokes. Which is amazing. To have a stand up special, an hour of hilarious material, and not have it written out.

I think the best artists create things in very cool ways. See, a post not hating Eminem.

I listen to Recovery and I wonder how many of those lyrics were first thought of or formed way back when... in that collection of loose leaf paper.

Eminem doesn't even need to write songs anymore, I imagine he has crates full of lyrics he still hasn't used. A little bit of tweaking to make them sound more current, and he'd be set for any verse he decides to drop outside of his own albums.

I like to think they are just freestyles. That he has so little respect for the shitty artists he has been working with he can't be bothered to write a real verse.

CMLR was well written

Forced rhymes, shit punchlines, awkward speed changes, overall horrible subject matter. He referenced something allen iverson did ten years ago and made his 1000th big big reference that despite trshady opinion, wasn't creative or witty in any way.

tl;dr The verse was shit.

I think Em is much smarter than that. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't want to work on it...

I used to think the same, untill "numb". I think he can't say no to Rihanna, he feels somehow in debt with her....
