Would you rather?

Postby LMShady » Jan 17th, '13, 18:43

Eminem's upcoming album was his last, however managed to produce something spectacular and successful that is better than all the predecessors and was an instant classic, had songs that reminded you of the MMLP, TES days and really signed off his career well and emotionally in no possible better way...

OR...

he continues bringing out albums every year/two years that are dope enough but eventually it comes to a point where it seems as if he is running out of ideas quickly, therefore ends his career with his final album not being as amazing or emotional as I'm sure people here hope it to be... however there will be more Em music period.

I say this now and he could go on to bring out many more albums that are great and still finish on a strong final album, but could it be better overall if he took a few years out to concentrate on one last album?

For the record, I am actually a bit torn myself but I always have this idea of his final album being amazing... providing he did it earlier rather than later.
But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone and the lights go out in that trailer park?

The former, obviously. It's better to go out at your highest rather than continue to deliver turd after turd, like Jay-Z or Snoop Dogg.

While I want to choose the first option like hell, I think that he can actually produce another classic by the end of his career. And I don't think this next album is the end. So I would choose the second one and just hope that the material is great. I'm pretty sure his final album will be great as well regardless of the music he puts out from now until then.

Let's say this last album was him saying goodbye period... he was going to start focusing on becoming a producer and films etc. I'm guessing if he still featured on other stuff you would rather he just carried on anyway?

I thought he wasn't going to put out another album last year, so yeah if it his best work, I wouldn't mind it at all.

Thinking about it again, ideally, I think I'd be happy with this next album followed by his last... followed by him producing more and appearing in another film as well as jumping on a few features.

The first option. One more TES/MMLP caliber album so that he goes the way he deserves. But then, a year or two later, I would want new music.

As long as he keeps doing a good job I prefer him to continue with a few more albums. I wouldn't like to see him running out of breath in a stage tbh, but while he is still good why put expiration date....

People here talk about Relapse and Recovery like poor albums, but for me they are not.

Thank you. :worship:

Relapse and Recovery aren't better than the holy trinity (SSLP,MMLP,TES) but they are by no means bad albums. Relapse is a 4.5 in my book and Recovery is a 4.

Agreed :y:

But also keep in mind that things are often more appreciated with the time. I think in 10 years people will talk about Relapse and Recovery in other way.
TES is still my favorite though, that possibly will never change.
