By the way, what exactly means "Light work" how I can translate it?

Thanks.

Basically, it's nothing compared to what's coming next. Child's play. If we're to take Porter serious and he's being real, that is.

But I still can't help but be skeptical because he did leave us in the dark with solo material for 3 years and this song has a strong Recovery vibe to it. Can you guys not tell? His delivery is still not appealing to me. There are some parts of the song where it works but overall it's still messy and all over the place. Whatever I'm not trying to change anyone's opinions here and not criticizing anyone for liking this song. I guess I have no choice but to wait for the rest of the album and judge it then :/

All you can do. Besides, EVEN if Survival isn't on the album, Porter never knew that it was in the first place and he called it "Light Work" compared to what's up next. It sounds like Survival wasn't intended to be on the album (It might not even be on it when the final tracklist comes out, things happen), so if Porter thought it wasn't an album track... that says a lot.

Ah, that's interesting. So what exactly was it intended for? Just to get his name back out there or something? I mean it would make more sense to come back with an official song from his new album. Jesus, Em has been very sketchy with his new project lately. Mr. Porter is restoring my hope though with that comment :D

I understand it as 'simple', 'light', 'kind of weak in comparison with the songs of the album'.

Exactly. It probably IS on the album, but since Porter never knew of that, it's weird cause he went off the assumption it wasn't. And that Survival is light work compared to what's next. So in conclusion, whether Survival's on the album or not, Em's got a lot of surprises in store. That's why I'm so optimistic. That, and he's been so hush-hush about it, so I refuse to believe he's been silent all this long, only to hit us with Recovery II.

I was hoping he would change up the formula and not use a chick on a chorus every fucking time and have a more controlled delivery and flow. I will reserve full judgement before the album leaks but it's not looking so good at this point.

I have no proof lol I'm basing it on his voice cuz he sounds nothing like Recovery or even H:TS.

Cant you tell how sharp his voice is on, I could be wrong but I'll even say this was his most recent verse recorded imo

Well, I like how his voice sounds on some parts of the song but I still think overall it's still all over the place like I said before. Also, not a fan of the production tbh. But it does look like this song won't be on the album as hinted by Mr. Porter so we'll have to see what his official single will sound like :coffee:

@JamaicanPattlez Very good points, you helped me change my outlook a bit with what to expect now :y: . It also does make sense because I think he wouldn't use his best material to use on a COD promo video, rather on an official outlet like Shade 45.

I have a feeling if it makes the album it will be a song that I will always skip. For one I think it will be one of the worse songs on the album and two by the time the album comes out I will have already listened to it a bunch and be tired of it.
