Because sales don't equate to quality? Are you fuckin serious?

Definitely agree with Revolver being right up there though. Incredible album.

MMLP... I can't speak on all other albums, or whether I think it should be higher as I've honestly not heard that many genres, I don't listen to much.

But I sure as fuck know it's galaxies beyond MBDTF. And Illmatic.

But why? Coz da lyrics iz better and da concept songz like stan and kim are da best eva?

I understand why you would feel it should be higher, but as a musical body of music MDTF is difficult to topple. It isn't just about how Kanye is rapping: it's the music that supports his work. It's pulling together tracks like All of the Lights with a crazy list of artists on board, yet none take the limelight. For that track in particular the message is clear: it epitomises Kanye at his highest level of fame before it crashed before his eyes. This comes full circle on Lost in the World when the female voice coos 'run from the lights'. Obviously the light is a metaphor for fame; spotlight; the media et al.

Track by track MMLP is pretty special, but it doesn't create the same story like MDTF does. Therefore, when judged as an album, it doesn't have the cohesion to elevate it to the level of MDTF. It just doesn't operate as a singular entity.

I think you have it slightly confused. MBDTF breaches so many genres. I can see it falling behind MMLP on a list of best RAP albums of all time, but in a list like this I think it deserves to be so high. That Mike Dean guitar solo is enough to get anyone emotional.
