Hey everybody...
Well, as you can see, I'm not much of a poster around these parts, but I do read people's comments every now and then. Somehow today I felt like I had to say something, and since I never post, I didn't want it to get lost in the gazillion threads about 3 AM.
I might be out of my mind, but... aren't singles supposed to be dropped to PROMOTE an album and get more and more people interested in it?. If what I think is right, then... these 3 tracks we got, or actually 2 (because Crack A Bottle was a special case and can't be counted as a real single we all know why, no need to dig deeper) must be among the best of the album, right? Otherwise he must have picked some other one. Ok, maybe we shouldnt even take "We Made You" seriously since Em always release a stupid/funny track as first single. So that leaves os with just ONE real single, which is 3 AM. Despite the fact that I think it's an "OK" track, and just average (it'd be one of the best tracks in many other artitst's carreer, but for Eminem, this is just average, and he could do a song like this anyday, even rhyming while he's sleeping). So... aren't they supposed to pick "the best" track as the first non-radio-friendly-stupidly-ridiculous single of the album? Like they did on Encore, which is Eminem's worst album up to date, the first non-radio-friendly-stupidly-ridiculous single they dropped was Like Toy Soldiers which was (and I'm sure nobody will argue with this) the best track of that album, and in my opinion it's among Eminem's 15 best tracks.
Using just simple logic, then, we must conclude that they chose "3 AM" as the freshest-sickest track that The Relapse will include, so... where does that leave us?
I know all of these chats are worth nothing, and they are just simple guessings, but... that's all we can do until May 19th.
What do you think? Is that the best track they could pick? Or they're just saving the best cuts last?
Don't just say what you'd like to happen, say what you really think they're doing.
My 2 cents...
Blessings
