Why would you think that if you buy an "album" on iTunes that it would not be counted for total "album sales"? Pretty mind blowing that some people don't believe that the iTunes sales would not count. A sale is a sale, hard album or digital album. It all counts the same way..... so lets put this to rest.

FROM "BILLBOARD" THEMSELVES, AT LEAST IN THE U.S. ALL SALES COUNT

The title also leads the Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart that was released on May 20, which reflected unweighted sales through the close of business on Tuesday, May 19. Billboard estimates the seven merchants who report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart -- Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, iTunes, Starbucks, Borders, Target and Anderson Merchandisers -- comprise about 60% of all U.S. album sales.

Don't be silly with Korea, you have to take into account that the population is so much smaller that 2000 copies sold is probably enough for it to reach Platinum status.

i guess the sales are a reflection of how big piracy is getting nowadays. Considering that fact, i think the sales are not too bad thus far - would be better if NZ cracked 10k but we're a small country so... :sweating:

I think itunes sales doesn't count as disk sales,it is sale but it doesn't count as a actual copy.

They had no problems reaching a mill in the past, though it was obviously not on the 1st week sale. Still Korea is more for illegal downloads. Even their most favorite boyband sold 500,000+ copies in over 6 months- mostly due to international fans- while the other 'big' artists are nowhere near it, and it is something that has not happened in ages, so that does tell a lot.
