I think they grew close as time went on. I believe they had a working relationship when Em signed 50, because it was a "business" type deal. 50 was originally mad at Em for fucking around on getting the deal done, but the experience of them working together in the studio was what brought them to a friendship level. A good example of previous friendship was when Green Lantern left shady records over tension with 50, when if Em didn't care, Green Lantern probably would've stayed.

Em got closer with Mr Porter more than anyone after Proof died, I think.
