Why New Eminem Doesn't Compare to Old Eminem

He is incapable of focusing his lyrics. He writes verses, not songs. Granted, there are some exceptions like LTWYL and Not Afraid, but take Almost Famous. It was one of my favorite Recovery tracks, musically. Sick chorus, and the concept of a throwback song to him trying to make it big is awesome. But the lyrics? They were nice, but half of them were just his bullshit punchlines. The "get off my dick" line was hilarious, but that's Tim Westwood freestyle shit, c'mon. In his old serious songs, 100% of the lyrics related directly to the song topic. I know the lines in Almost Famous were supposed to show how good he was coming up, but they could be generically inserted into any one of his new songs and fit. I"m pretty sure he just writes batches of wordplay verses nowadays and tosses them into what ever song needs a verse. I loved On Fire and Cold Wind Blows, but if you changed their verses you would get pretty much the same results. In his old songs, the verses worked with the song they were put in and that song only.

And for every one who bitches about people bitching about Em, the reason I do is he is my favorite artist so I hold him to a high standard. I don't write posts just to suck his dick and talk about how good he is. We know he's good, he just needs to get back to writing classics.

False. Read their lyrics, they are MUCH more focused. Most all their lines relate directly to him and his life, rather that talking about ketchup squirters and frankfurters.

Go listen to someone else then......... Quite honestly, its not sarcasm. Snoop dogg stopped being dope to me a decade ago, so I stopped listening to him, I dont sit around on his web page bitchin about him not bein what he use to be........Times change, he's never goin back to his "Doggystyle" days, so you can either except what he does now or stop listening.

There's plenty of other rappers out there, if dude's new music is that bad to you know one forces you to listen

Just sayin........

I think it has to do with the fans have changed more than EM.

If Relapse would have came out in 00, I would probably have liked it as much as the MMLP, if not more.

I'm not 13 anymore. I'm 23. I've changed a lot in a decade. Eminem doesn't have the same appeal at my 23 year old angry, biter and desensitized mind. As it did as my innocent, fun loving 13 year old self.

Me then: LOL TIE A ROPE AROUND UR PENIS

Me Now: Ugh....I hate everthing...

If I'm mistaken, was their 2 Eminem's this whole time?

I dont think soooo

he's still the same guy

BUT ITS DIFFERENT THIS TIME BECAUSE HE ALMOST DIED AND THE PILLS RUINED HIS SWAG AND VOICE AND SKILLS AND MEMORY

SO HES IN RECOVERY THIS TIME

GIVE THE GUY A BREAK

Jesus.. let the guy do what he wants, if you don't like the new Eminem then listen to the old Eminem.. simple
My mother started screamin, "What are you on, drugs?!?
Look at you, you're gettin blood all over my rug!" (Sorry!)
She beat me over the head with the remote control
opened a hole, and my whole brain fell out of my skull
I picked it up and screamed, "Look bitch, what have you done?!?"
"Oh my God, I'm sorry son"
"Shut up you cunt!" I said, "Fuck it!"

Sorry but I don't see how Just Don't Give a Fuck, Still Don't Give a Fuck, or Kill You are MUCH more focused. At least in Almost Famous, he had a focus for the song (him blowing up) sprinkled with a little randomness (a tribute for his freestyling days, just like in Underground).

At the OP, saying shit about his lyrics fitting the song etc etc is bullshit, he has written like that since the sslp, and there are many examples, so fail :n:
