Possible direction for Em's next record

Postby FreeSpeech » Jan 15th, '11, 01:54

I really think he has exhausted most of his previous personal issues. However, he can (obviously) still make sick songs. A few" love" songs are expected but he doesn't need 10 of them on an album. He doesn't like to feed hos, we get it. Some of his more generic "I'm a monster on a mic" songs are my favorites. If he makes an album with songs like Words Are Weapons, Til I Collapse, or No Apologies, I'm not worried about him running out of good songs.

Only TIC has a theme there, of the songs you mentioned. The others are mindless, but lyrical, dribble...I like a little bit of a concpet

I just hope there are no more love songs.

I hated love the way you lie and even with his recent colabs with ti and lloyd banks they all sound same this stupid theme from ltwl.

I dont blame them they prob wanted there high selling single with eminem that was just like love the way you lie.

They all have a bit of meaning:
TIC - He's gonna be an asshole for a long time, til he collapses
Words Are Weapons - JK this one is just nice lyrics
No Apologies - Nah suckers he's not sorry

But yeah he'll have to make a few concept/deeper songs, but I'd be fine with an album with a bunch of Til I Collapse type songs.

You really think that No Apologies is just mindless dribble? :n:
That's a classic track no doubt with a ton of meaning.

It was two freestyle throwaways and a drugged up verse....good song...but zero concept

And the "I'm a king on the mic" tracks are cool too.

The only problem is the three songs you just listed have actual truths, what truths exist now ? apart from going to the studio and making it back to the house in time for the kids getting back from school.
However the slaughterhouse signing maybe means more inspiration.

I think the song didn't make the cut on TES (who knows why), and then he decided to use the verses on a freestyle.

I bet he has plenty of things to say.

He probably reads here, or receives fan mail somehow. Maybe he can implement that into a song (no,
not another Stan).

How about everyone going at him again? The song with Elton sounds like it's about coming from being down and out to back at the top. He has plenty of concepts he could work with.

These are just some of my thoughts off the top of my head, I'm sure if Em sat down and thought about it, he'd come up with way better stuff than I got. He's the genius. :smoking:

I don't question his ability to come up with a great concept song, like you said he is the genius. I just think that all concept he comes up with from now on will most likely be completely a concept. And if there is any inclusions of truths, we'd probably heard some variation of it before. Cause for real his life is probably more enjoyable than mine now.

I'd like to hear him get on that fuckin' 8 Mile shit again. Maybe a movie will inspire concept music? This ex-con part he's playing could produce some whole new concepts for him as far as storytelling goes :coffee:

Eminem has to be a wife beater in his new movie. It can inspire him.

And if any of these movies materialise, it's almost certain that he'll be heavily involved with the soundtrack. These movies mean a lot more than just getting back into acting.

Encore funny? No.

SSLP / MMLP funny? Yes.

Please. One song. :y:

I thought We Made You was hilarious. But yeah, nothing on Recovery had me cracking up.

Or is it as funny as As The World Turns?

We Made You was funny a couple times but that's it. Those songs are classic, and will be funny forever. :worship:

Nowhere close to I'm Back, that's one of my favorite Em verses of all time. It's on par with ATWT in my opinion. The We Made You vid is one of my favorites of all time, it's hilarious. Plus fat Jessica Simpson is hot :D

I think it would be cool if Eminem made an album that tells a story throughout the whole album. I think it would open up a whole new level of story telling. Such as having different characters in the story, such as him rapping as slim shady and Marshall Mather's. While also having his classical dark sense of humor, and genius rhyming schemes. I don't know maybe i'm dreaming to much for another MMLP quality of an album.
