Em is getting older, how much longer can he go?

Postby Halftongue Dre » Sep 8th, '12, 21:43

Em is going to hit 40 this October. The question is how many more albums can he make? Getting older there ain't much to talk about, maybe there is. Johnny Cash made good music all the way up to his death. But I just wonder what's gonna occupy Em's time and mind and captive him to keep writing. Me personally I'd like to see Em become wiser and write more inspirational tracks. I like when he actually has a message and meaning to his lyrics, where he explains things. Getting older can change his perspective and outlook and cause him to write about whats real, not just the perverted and meaningless ranting. Although it never hurts to sit and vibe to a vague and absurd song. Whatever he chose's to do he has the support behind him I just wanna see him dig deep and produce his best material yet. Word

So I'd say 2 more solos.

Unless he just continues to never age and his voice still sounds great in his late 40s. I don't care how old he is. I still listen to Dre (47) and Jay-Z (42). They sound just like they did 10 years ago. Same with Em.

Fuckme :o Dre's 47??!

Absolutely nothing :b:

I think Em will always be making music, always. Eventually doing what Dre does, just produce and do a guest verse here and there.

This.

I think he'll release 2 or 3 solo albums other then the next one and then he'll just release some singles and do guest verses on other's people album, and focus on producing.

Most rappers stop becoming relevant after age 45. They either put out music for an independent crowd or stop making music altogether, but I think Eminem has a little more staying power.

You know the Rolling Stones STILL make music. It's just that only the true fans listen to them.

It's because Hip Hop's seen as a "Young Man's Game", which is dumb. Music doesn't have an age limit.

And that's perfectly fine for them. I'm sure if Em's rapping by age 47, he won't care about being mainstream anymore. Dre, on the other hand... haha.

If that were the case, Detox would have been out a long time ago.

Crap, he is?

Man, I long for the days when Eminem wasn't getting older. It sucks that he can no longer stay the same age.

Yeah, what I mean is, it seems like he's adding and removing tracks so majority of the people will go "Oh shit, Dre's album is GREAT!!!" and then tell everyone to buy it. I don't think it would happen, though. It's like Duke Nukem. Hyped for years, and when it finally came out, everyone shat on it.

I say 2 more solos, but I really can't say if the dude was close to 50 and sounded the same I'd hate it. I mean, age is weird in rap, but as for inspirational/message tracks...he had many more back in the day, he seems to have lost it since his comeback imo
