Should we have "faith" on the second single as we used to?

Not that Berzerk was a bad song, but we always expect greatness on the second single wich used to be the "serious" one. Well, if we think about it, most of the Recovery songs had the "second single" feel since they're all serious and introspective but, of course, none of them (or at least the majority of it) matched the caliber of Way I Am, COMC, Like Toy Soldiers or even Guilty Conscience.

So, what you guys think? Can we expect a great second single as the ones mentioned above, or should we expect a track of the same caliber as the Recovery ones?

Eminem's singles are always better the 4th or 5th time you hear them, not saying the 2nd single will be, but alot of his songs are like that.

I think if it DOES happen to be a serious/introspective song, it will pretty much be like an additional Recovery song. I hope I'm wrong though.

All I want is Em rapping smoothly over a minimal HIP HOP (not pop or rockish) beat with a non-corny hook and a Renegade type flow. That would make me jizz. Multiple times.

Toy Soldiers wasn't great rhyming wise, but the story telling and the way he shows his opinion made me like that song than LTWYL or SB. Not Afraid I like better because of the 3rd verse though.

I remember during the Relapse era when we were heavily anticipating the second single, then when 3am dropped most of us were disapointed 'cause it wasn't a song that could rival his other second singles. During Recovery era nobody anticipated the second single like that, since Em' already released a "second single" type of song as the first single... So since he apparently went back to the old formula I thought it would be interesting to discuss that...

If you think about it, the 2nd single represents the album more than likely.

3AM - Horror type song, Relapse had a lot of horror/murder songs.

LTWYL - Poor.

Because until Relapse we used to expect greatness from the second singles, after Not Afraid dropped we didn't expect it the same way we used to, as NA was a "second single" type of song already and it wasn't great like the old ones.
