When Em disses someone

Postby Ev1L GeniuS » Dec 18th, '08, 01:54

Dont you guys think that Em shows how good he is when he disses somebody ?
i mean i know he shows his skills in his albums / freestyles and stuff
but when he disses somebody i think in here he shows his best
because i think songs like bully, the sause, nail in the coffin, Girls, can i bitch shows what an emcee should have rhymes flow lyrics punchlines wordplay multies r amazing in those songs !

Em is probably my favorite mainstream artist when it comes to diss songs 2nd to Nas. Nobody's fucking with Nas in this category... period... But Em does his thing. He gets into it and his emotion draws you into it. That's his biggest attribute.

He gets really sick on a diss, specially when someone mentions his daughter.

his diss songs are nothing compared to some of his album material he has put out (before encore)

in my opinion all of his diss songs toward ja rule and such lack allot of wordplay/real punches. he's always good on multies and flow and the beats he spits on are always fire but I want the real deal not just the package wrapped pretty (get it)

like for example, his punches are most of the time self-evident

"cause ive always came off
like ja's chain
when they try to rush him and lost
and came back and gave him a watch in exchange for it"

this is wordplay in its weakest form and as far as I know it's the only wordplay he ever used against ja rule
and murder inc. he even recycled that shit .."Pass my pussy around like it's Ja Rule's jewelry" on hey lady

unless you consider this as wordplay...

"But his ass is such a puppet
Irv could shove his whole hand up it
And just make him say what he wants him to say"

then this would be the lowest standard!

now lets begin about bully. I do not see why this song is so special lyric/diss wise. the way he constructed the rhyme-scheme in it is really cool but not even that is consistent enough to be labeled as one of the greatest diss songs in history or whatever. it seems like all of his diss songs is just talk about what he will do to one if he crosses the line and talking mostly about crossing the line with a couple of self-evident punches thrown in it.

I for one think that the sauce is the best one, not because of punches or whatever but the way he presented himself, the delivery, the multies, the anger, his flow and the beat!! all on point!

but diss wise I say that "I remember" is the best one. it feels like he is really dissing someone HARD!
but again not because of wordplay but because of personals. eminem always comes with the personals and thats fine, only problem is that he uses the same things to fucking much...like for example

ja rule = extacy and 2 pac wanna be

everlast a.k.a Whitey Ford = heart attack and a Muslim faggot

but don't get me wrong, he killed them with these songs. it's just not in the emceeing kind of way that I would have liked. and for the recor, I think all of his diss songs are awesome but this is just my opinion about them.

peace

^ you obviously must not heard of The Sauce, those are some of the hardest punches ever and they were all true too, most punches aren't personal or anything.

I think Em is one of the best in the game period. but he is deffiantly good with disses. His punchlines are amazing. He gets you where it hurts. He brings out all personal stuff and gets them where it hurts. He is genious that way.

you are right that he has a few punches, bu they arent great. the only one that stood out is this one 'On your TV, cuz you've got to stay up 'til
Three in the morning to see your video played once on BET"

if somebody on this form would've used the punches he used in a battle, you would be saying the same thing.

I mean "smoke you like rolled weed" is played as fuck

"Three and a half now just means you're a piece of shit
Four and a half or five
Means you're Biggie, Jigga, Nas, or Benzino" is a self-evident punch

"To try to eat off him because you missed your boat
You're never gonna blow, bitch, you're just too old" ...see what I mean

"I'm pushing thirty, you're kickin forty's door down" again a self-evident punch...it's like ok, he's getting old, we know now.

"Benzino's wack, no matter how many times I say his name
He'll never blow jack" same goes for this one

but you must know, I'm not bashing eminem here, or atleast I am not trying to. it's just that the punches/ wordplay isn't so great once you see past the awesomeness of his raps...imo, he kept all of his good stuff for the albums...including infinite...and excluding encore.
