I haven't heard enough of horrorcore to compare with anything else so I cant make a judgement on whether he did a good job of that genre.

I enjoyed the album but whether he's good at horrorcore is something I'm not able to really answer.

It didn't sound like horrorcore to me. Em's take on it had more perspective. I'd give it a new sub genre.

He certainly approached the genre with a unique, easy-listening style. In comparison to other artists like Ghetto Boyz, King Gordy & ICP (who I'm not too keen on myself) I think he's done a much better job not only in his lyrics and multis, but in setting the scene. I'm an avid horror movie fan, so all his references to horror villains were awesome, probably why I consider Relapse as one of my favourite albums, and the hook for Same Song & Dance is one of my favourites ever. Plus it's not as if any of his other material has been far from horrorcore, especially SSLP, MMLP and Devil's Night.

My favorite from SOL, but Em's brand is less cliché.

I don't find stringing punchlines together very entertaining, and Em managed to pull off decent gorecore without resorting to lame punches like RA.

A flight light?
I didn't even think he tried punches, which I appreciate.
I just love how he really puts himself in the mind of a psychopath, instead of it feeling like he's reciting something written down.
RA aren't psychopaths, just rappers.
Em makes it feel like the real deal.

I wouldn't say that it's pure horror core. But I like the way he executed it.

To be fare, I only consider a handful of tracks on Relapse and Refill as true horrorcore; 3 a.m., Same Song & Dance, Stay Wide Awake, Buffalo Bill and Music Box. Although the whole album is heavily influenced by it and most tracks incorporate references and elements of his classic gore lyrics.

And I said his old tracks weren't too far away from horrorcore, not that they strictly were that genre, people are acting like it's a new thing for him. It's hard to label relapse as a sub genre, like he said himself, it's just rap records, but I think he approached the genre well, I love relapse, but that's just MY opinion and slot of people don't like it.
