In Won't Back Down. I'm NOT saying he is trying to start beef or anything, it could be something along the lines of friendly competition even, but...
The whole song is chock full of double meanings and words being used two different ways. Look at the lyrics..
Bitch am I the reason that your boyfriend stopped rappin'
Does a bird chirp, Lil' Wayne slurps syrup til he burps
And smokes purp, does a wordsearch, get's circles wrapped around it
like you do when I come through, I'd like you to remind yourself
Of what the fuck I can do when I'm on the mic
One one hand, it looks like a list of rhetorical questions to answer 'am I the reason your boyfriend stopped rappin?'
Does a bird chip? Does Lil Wayne slurp syrup and smoke purp? Does a wordsearch get circles WRAPPED around it?
On the other hand, he is ALSO making a list of rhetorical questions about Lil Wayne...
Does Lil' Wayne slurp syrup? Smoke purp? Does a wordsearch? Get circles RAPPED around him?
I just think, considering the context of this song, theres no way its a coincidence. The word wrapped/rapped HAS to be double edged.
I know I'm pointing out the obvious with the wordplay on this, and bringing up an old discussion... and I really thought he wasn't dissing Wayne either, but... I dunno, I just listened to the song and the word 'it/'him' (circles wrapped/rapped around it/him) sounds like it can really go either way. I think its a diss, maybe even very playful - almost like if he made a line about rapping circles around Proof back in the day. Clowning on your boy kinda thing.
Reminds me of the fake-its / faggots, except this is way, way more indistinguishable.
